Lewis & Clark to Start Animal Law LL.M. This Fall

New program will be "world’s first and only advanced legal degree in animal law"

May 17, 2012

Lewis & Clark College Law School in Portland, Oregon will begin a new Animal Law LL.M. program starting in Fall 2012.

According to the law school, students in the program "will have the opportunity to develop a curriculum specific to their career aspirations, whether it is teaching, or practicing law in a private firm, non-profit organization, corporation or government agency."

For the 2012-2013 academic year, only US applicants who have a JD from an accredited institution will be considered for admission. The school says it will be accepting international students at a later date.

The one-year, 26-credit program will be kept to a dozen students or less. It can also be taken part-time over up to two and a half years.
