Shirin Ebadi to Give Lecture at University of San Diego Law School
Iranian lawyer and 2003 Nobel Peace Prize winner scheduled for September 7Aug 29, 2006
Iranian lawyer and Nobel laureate will give a lecture at the University of San Diego Law School entitled "Iran Awakening: Human Rights, Women and Islam" on September 7, 2006. The event is co-sponsored by the University of San Diego School of Law and the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice. In 2003, Ebadi became the world's first Muslim woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize for her work to promote human rights and women's rights.
