One Week After
By JamesBangkok in From-Bangkok-to-UK on Nov 21, 2007
One week after after submitting to all LL.M program in UK universities. I felt so much relieved as it was such a restless experience running around from work to my university and vice versa. Besides, one of the thing that was very difficult to finish is the personal statement(s)
I am very impressed by some universities that have sent me the correspondent email very fast. Especially with LSE, It has sent me an email just a few days ago after submitting online that some of my documents were missing. Then, after tose documents got to them, they replied back to me also very quickly about my document completion.
At this point I will not worry yet where to choose (from eight universities I have applied to) cuz basically It is the time that they 're deciding whether or not to pick me. Definitely, where i would like to go is either UCL and LSE. And since I got a full scholarship I am lucky to not to have to worry about the tuition fee.
Though I was advised by many that in order to go to better ranked universities ( in my case UCL & LSE) I need to write my personal statement very well and I must got excellent recommendations in order to substitute my normal-looking GPA academic performance.
Anyway, It feels so much better finishng this stuff and hopefully I hea the good news soon. Now I may get back to work in peace :-)

Interesting James! Congratulations for the full scholarship!!! I am sure you will have a good time there! On the other hand, do you have the PS that yo have sent to the universities? I want to prepare my PS but I do not know how to proceed, and it seems that you have made a good job with your PS! Good luck!
Dear
me Augusta, i wanna gt admsn in LLm(int. Trade law)in U.k. .. wch univ. wl b better for ths courses ? i gt 57% in LLb...
dear all thanks for your comments
to answer your question
Lucy : Thank you for your wishes
yes all the eight schools i have applied are in the UK and it is because that is the condition provided by the scholarship. They had me choices between UK and france. I cannot speak French so I think UK is a much more sensible choice. My scholarship, although full but i have to come back to work with a department in my country for two years. And it is been said that many people who are working in there, had educations from the US, so that's probably why they didnt include US in the condition. For diversity reason...
Scholarship: Thank you!
yes i still have the PS with me. let me share it with you and hope it is some kind of help. It was a hard process cuz my first draft got terrible comments by my friends. SO ikept writing and writing new ones again..and with helps of friends who are native speakers, the last draft looks quite good i think
Augusta:
There are many good universities in that particular. I would suggest UCL,LSE I heard that Durham and Aberdeen are great as well but I dont apply for a quiet town reason. I think what you can do is to look on the website of each Uni and see if the name of the courses attract you. Ex; for me I think the name of subjects at UCL is very interesting. I dont know about 57% much, is it good? we dont have the same system in Thailand
ยินดีด้วยครับ
P'James, Good luck with all your application na ka. I'm sure you'll have many great choices to choose. Next year should be ur very happy new year na..
:-D
Wish you to be accepted from the university you would like to further your higher education the most. As far as I met you at the IP Moot Competition, I'm sure you will get the acceptance from LSE and UCL.
All the Best

Cool post! Good luck, James! Both UCL and LSE are very strong schools - among the best in Britain - so I don't think you can go wrong with either one of those. And London is a fun place to be. Are all 8 schools you applied to in the UK? Why are you focused on the UK and not somewhere else (USA, Europe, Australia, ...)? What are your plans? Sorry so many questions! Maybe that's all stuff to cover in future posts! But for now, good luck!!
