Even though I am wait listed at UCLA and would love for you to give up your place, I would choose UCLA over USC. The reasons beingWed May 04, 2011 09:27 AM 1. Overall ranking as a university and for law UCLA is better ranked 2. UCLA also has better value and reputation in international markets. 3. From the little that I have understood by speaking to people the networking and faculty plus job opportunities are a wee bit better at UCLA 4. Lastly, UCLA is giving you 2k more :P |

The job market schouldn't be considered too much for LL.Ms. Even Ivy League LL.M graduates mostly do not get a job. But also in favor of UCLA is the location in Westwood, which is safer, nicer and more beautiful.Wed May 04, 2011 02:02 PM Go for UCLA, if I wasn't at Columbia, I'd be in UCLA too... |

Thanks for all the responses guys...Wed May 04, 2011 03:06 PM I think both USC and UCLA have their qualities... Most people I talk to say to me to go to UCLA... I am just a little bit reluctant because on my contact with them I did not feel much of interest in their part. I mean, to answer an simple e-mail with some simple doubts took them almost 2 months!!! At USC it seems they are much more considering, are ready to help and pay much more attention on you. scllm: although UCLA is giving me 2k more, their tuition is 5k more expensive! :P MAB79: that's something everybody tells me... congratulations and good luck at Columbia! :) --- |

I needed to give an answer to UCLA on wednesday, may 4th. On that exact day, George Washington called me and offered me an half tuition scholarship. I called UCLA and they extended my deadline till monday, may 9th!Sat May 07, 2011 02:25 AM So now I am still deciding. My dilemma is worst now as GWU would so much cheaper (around 12k) than USC/UCLA. But I don't know if I wanna live in Washington. Any word on that, scllm? hehehe --- |

Hey,Sun May 08, 2011 11:32 AM when considering the cost of the program, make sure to figure in the living expenses as well. DC appears to be much more expensive than LA. Plus, UCLA, for example, has the complete cost of insurance already figured into the tuition. That wasn't the case at other schools. Good luck with your decision! |

In my personal opinion..you should go to UCLA......GWU is not in the same rank that UCLA...UCLA is much better and has a better reputation ..etc...(it is just my opinion...I do not mean to argue about it)....in addition to that you may be in DC ...close to so many international organizations and law firms and the government...but at the end of the day...as a student you are not be in a close contact with that people......
