you guys,

I'm starting to worry. I have not heard from Berkeley since my file complete notice. They said not to write unless urgently required, but would you suggest I phone them, or should I just wait a little more. Any one else in the same situation? Do you know if they've made all decisions?

Hi Alie471

I am in the situation with you. I submited my application documents on 10th,Dec. I doubt that they decide according to application date. Hope above friends who have received decision information could tell us when they submited application forms.

asterion, don't worry! If you received the file complete notice then I guess your file is currently being processed. I don't think they send out any other notice than that, except the letter of there decision. So if I were you I wouldn't worry about it. But if your still worried why don't you phone them. I've called several times asking about the results. They won't ask for your name, at least they didn't ask for mine so give it a try. But if your asking about your personal file than they will need to have your name though. Anyway chill out the wait will come to an end sooner or later! We are all here for each other!!!

Thanks for the support kenin. I guess I'll wait (won't call for now). Aren't you guys hooked on the wait.. wait junkies, aren't we all? How will life be after the wait...without checking this web site or our e-mails every other hour after sending a business e-mail or completing a legal document, hanging up the phone, or even returning from a meeting? This is cool... I'll continue to enjoy it and look forward to perhaps meeting some of you. Best of luck!

Did Boalt send out a complete notice?
Is it different from the one which said that, "We are pleased to inform you that your application for admission has been received by the Advanced Law Degree Programs Office at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law."?
I received the above notice last December and could not hear further...Did everybody receive another "completion notice"?
Should I contact Boalt to check if mine was completed at all?

yep that's the email that I was refering to. anyone received anything else?

well since the wait is still on let's talk about something else for the mean time.

if you do get admitted what are your future plans after boalt? i'd like to practice in the US. does anyone know how many llm holders from boalt get employed after graduation? it seems that everyone's saying if you wanna practice with a llm than you gotta go to HLS, SLS or Yale. what do you all think?

To Gevurah,

I am on the same boat with you. No information since.
Those who are admitted already, did you guys receive completeness notification?

I know what you mean.
If it's bad news, I guess I'd rather get it later rather than sooner.

well i guess it isn't quite the time to start a conversation about the far future when we are all so anxious to know what will become of us tomorrow!

actually i think i might the most anxious of all since I'm like sticked to this board! u can probably see my post everywhere.

anyway i don't mind waiting for good news but if it's bad news that's coming i rather hear it sooner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know how you feel. The waiting is driving me mad. With each passing day I seem to get more frustrated. I just want to know the decision as soon as possible.

I am also stressed about the fact that apparently Boalt is already sending out letters to applicants on waiting list. Does that mean that all acceptances have been sent?

Boalt sent out decision notice by mail not email last week? So, until now those who have not received notice may be rejected.

I was also rejected. I called today and they told me that I should receive the letter in the following days. I didn't even made the waiting list.

It is really frustating to realize that I will probably never know the reason why I was rejected. Are they looking for straight A students? I graduated 15% of my class in one of the top Universities in Mexico. Never failed a class. My TOEFL score was of 277 (computer based), I am fluent in English and French and I have a strong background ( I have worked for almost 5 years now as an Intellectual Property Lawyer and I have published some articles). So, what else do I need?

I only applied to Berkeley and Stanford (I haven't heard from them yet). So, if I also get rejected from Stanford, I will have to submit applications for the 2007 term. Does anyone know if the admissions board really considers applicants who were previously rejected? Do I have any real chance if I reapply? I would love to hear any tips or pointers from those of you who got accepted this year.

Thanks and good luck!

In their website, it states that Boalt prefer the applicant with governmental interest. I mean if you do not states in your SOP that you want to go back to your home country and work in some government demartment, your qualification might not be much distinctive.
Moreover, I think the applicant with a goverment scholarship from their home country may be distinctive (for Boalt), although their grade or toefl score are just acceptable. One of my friend have the government scholarship(with a burden to work in that department for 5 years after graduated) and he got offer from Boalt with the same profile as yours, gim.

just my assumption

Dear friend, I am from Mexico too and I have two Mexican friends that were accepted to take the LLM at Berkeley. They have impressive credentials. I recommend you to apply to Georgetown, they recently extent the deadline to apply and I understand the IP program is one of the top in the US.

It is very difficult to be accepted in Stanford, remember that they accept just 10 students.

Good luck

For those of you who haven't heard from Berkeley yet: there is still hope!! I never received an acceptance email or anything like all of you guys on the board. But today there was a surprise: I received the acceptance letter by post..
!!! So keep your hopes up if you haven't heard anything
Best to all of you.
By the way, I probably won't accept the offer as I got admitted to the University of Chicago and I do prefer it over Berkeley. Moreover, IP is not my area...
But good luck!

Hi, I have the same situation with you. I still do not know whether I will be admitted or rejected till now. There is not any information concerning the application.

Good luck to both of us.
