the only university offering llm degree in international trade mentioned in that post is university of ottawa, and the course is offered in french not english. dont you think a person with limited knowledge of french will have problem with the programme?Wed Feb 15, 2006 11:30 AM |

i thought i had read someone saying something about osgoode, as well. Sat Feb 18, 2006 02:44 AM about the uottawa, you don't need to take the courses in French if you register for the general Masters (without concentration). you can then follow all the courses in english, since the university is fully bilingual (that is to say, whatever course you want you can take either in english or in french). if you want to take the masters with concentration in commerce international, which you saw is in French, you can still do all the assignments in english. more than this i don't know, but i advise you to contact the grad's office. they are really attentive and may help you find your path. maybe they are just a bit busy, since the deadline for applications is right on the way... from what i can say from here, the university is investing a lot in international law (international trade inclusively), environmental law, and law and technology. those are really the programs in which it excels . i am studying law and technology, and fully enjoying my time in ottawa [Edited by link updater on 18 Feb 2006] |

Since it does not look like you ever received a reply to your email, I would suggest that you consider my university - University of Ottawa [www.llmlld.uottawa.ca/eng/main.htm] as well as Univ of British Columbia & Univ. of Toronto in this field [assuming you don't speak French]. Not only does Ottawa have the most profs in this topic & in internation law overall [we offered over 30 international law courses in 2005-06], plus it is the capital so all federal government departments, embassies & most NGOs are here. We have also just launched a new major institute - EDGE - that concentrates on trade & development [see for more info www.commonlaw.uottawa.ca/index.php?option=com_cont…}Mon Jun 12, 2006 09:00 PM Hope this helps Brad Morse |
