Canada - 2006 Offers Yet?
Hello All,Mon Feb 13, 2006 08:22 PM I was wondering if anyone has an experience/knowledge of when offers might come out at UVIC and/or UBC? Both say they offer on a rolling basis and my application materials were "complete" in early January 2006. Anyone have any leads on when they typically send out offers? Also, if you are lucky enough to get an offer, how long do you usually have to accept & pay tuition fees? Thanks in advance for any replies! Sean |

sent in my apps to Toronto and Queens early feb. waiting is totally agonizing. anyone got offers from UofT yet? read on their site acceptance rate is about 50/225 (from last year) dont know how much i could make of those figures tho. Hey LLM Bound - best of luck - I've only heard good things about the Queens LLB program so I would expect the LLM to be just as good... Tue Mar 07, 2006 01:41 AM Since putting up this post I got some great news from UBC... and UVIC has simply said that they will be coming to a decision "shortly". Try checking the university's deadline for the law faculty to recomend students to the faculty of graduate studies if it is published (ie for UBC it was March 1 for international students) which might give some indication as to when you might expect to hear from them. I feel your agony about the waiting game and it would be really really nice if programs would simply put that kind of info on their websites - ie the date when they generally expect to have decisions... doesn't need to be set in stone but at least if we knew what month! hi sean,Wed Mar 08, 2006 08:44 AM congrats on the good news from UBC!! what is your intended specialization? do you mind telling me if you're domestic / international and your class standing? also is it true that the canadian law schools generally have a lower threshold in admitting international students (as the tuition fee is higher). i applied as domestic but hold a foreign degree, so am rather worried! |

Hi Sean,Thu Mar 09, 2006 04:55 PM University of Toronto has just send me an offer. I applied in the beginning of February. The offer is open unti April 15. They say noting about maturity of the fee... Good Luck to everybody who is still waiting... |

Hi, I got the offer from UT on Feb. 8th too! And got Osgoode Hall 's last week. UT's financial decision has not been made yet~~~~

hi all. given that quite a few of you have already received offers from UT, if i haven't got one by now, can i assume i am rejected? my online profile has been 'Under Review' since December of last year! Or does UT just torture you and reject you in Aug? i have an offer from ubc and uvic, should i just accept them now?? thanks

francis: yes my status has been 'under review' for almost 2 months as well. the first thing i do when i wake up is to check that my status is 'under review', and the last thing i do before i go to bed is to see once again that it's 'under review'. my hopes of seeing a change for it into something else is dimming by the day. lol. i also emailed the school of graduate studies and research.. they didnt bother responding though! Wed Mar 22, 2006 06:30 PM i guess u should give UBC/UVic a positive answer on the deadline if u still hear no news from UofT. thats the only sensible thing to do yeah? I just got into the Ph.D. in Law at UBC. I've heard from the Faculty of Law but not yet from the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Today I received the recommendation of the raduate Admissions Committee of the Faculty of Law. Now I have to wait for the final decision of the GPSO in McGill.
