I think they do not send "application complete" emails, do they? In this case there is nothing detrimental in that you have not heard from them so far.

Right. I think they'll only send the results by late March (at least according to the website). We're in early February.Mon Feb 06, 2012 12:14 PM I'd suggest playing Scrabble for a few weeks. |

I haven't received an 'application complete' email either, and have been quite anxious about this... I keep checking back on the application page 'track status' link, but there's been no change on it since November. I guess I'll just have to develop some patience..

my 'track status' has been updated though with acknowledgment of receipt of my transcripts, recos etc..i guess it must have been done for others as well..Tue Feb 07, 2012 06:59 AM @NI i dont think anybody wud receive an application complete email as the email they sent upon submission of application expressly mentions that no such mail wud be sent out.. |

@lucifer: Thanks! I just went back and checked the 'application submitted' email after reading your post. You're right, they did expressly say they wouldn't send an 'application complete' email. I either didn't read the email carefully enough, or forgot about that line.. :s Well, that's one less thing to worry about.. :)

They will not send the "application complete" e-mail. Theoretically, the next e-mail we should receive is the e-mail with the results themselves - or notice of the results themselves.Tue Feb 07, 2012 10:55 AM No, there's no notice of "early decisions" by Harvard and I haven't asked for any as of yet. The other Law School I applied for (NYU) has not released their results for my program yet. So I don't really have any reason for requesting any early decisions on Harvard's part. I still think Scrabble is a good idea for the weeks to come. |

Hey! I was just wondering if you could let me know how the "early decision" works. I have been admitted to other schools and I am not sure if sending an email to expedite my decision at Harvard should be advisable. Is this a normal procedure? Thanks for the info!

@alito690 I cannot tell from experience, since I've never applied for Harvard before. But if you do have deadlines for accepting some or all of the offers you've received thus far, I think it's absolutely normal to let Harvard know that waiting for a decision until late March could result in your losing the opportunity to pursue an LLM degree this year, if the decision is negative. I don't really see Harvard examiners as people that would be upset with your impatience with the admissions' process (specially because it's backed by offers already in place).Tue Feb 07, 2012 11:55 AM So write a concise e-mail, possibly reiterating your admiration for HLS and telling them about the other offers, their deadlines and your need for planning ahead. Don't forget to attach to the e-mail all of the offers you've already received (or the offer you choose to mention in the e-mail). |

Hi guys, I do get a comment from HLS when I "tracked my status" and they requires me to provide a transcript of my exchange semester overseas.

@Lostkiki Have you sent them what they required? Mine doesn't say that, probably because I didn't spend a semester overseas (though I wanted to. I couldn't because of work in court).

@alito690: I'm also facing other law schools' deadlines, and I plan to ask HLS for an expedite decision. Did you send your e-mail? Have they answered? Fri Feb 10, 2012 11:48 AM [Edited by MJON on 20 Mar 2012] |

Did anyone else ask HLS for an early decision? I am thinking of it because I have 2 deadlines in February. Mon Feb 13, 2012 07:55 AM Is there anyone already granted an expedite request? |

The thread-starter is incorrect. Going by the thread's from last year, the decision will come on the third week of march.Mon Feb 13, 2012 06:26 PM Good luck to all. |

@jjye right you are.just glanced though the posts for last year and noticed that unlike other universities, harvard never sent out anything before a certain date. i think i just imagined the proposition out of my own anxiety..

It seems that HLS always send out all decisions on March 21.

According to Harvard, you should let them know if you are facing a deadline from another law school. So I did it. In very short time, they got back to me saying that Harvard cannot accelerate its admission process, and thus I should ask the other law schools for an extension of the deadline... Conclusion: don't waste your time! Harvard won't render an expedited decision.Thu Feb 16, 2012 10:53 AM [Edited by MJON on 20 Mar 2012] |

Thu Feb 16, 2012 11:54 AM Conclusion: don't waste your time! Harvard won't render an expedited decision. I am not sure about this. Although I don't know anyone personally who has been granted an expedite decision, I think, Harvard will actually do their best and sometimes give some indications. They would never offer the possibility of an expedite decision (on their faq/webpage), if not doing this actually. I think they may receive probably 20-30 e-mails/day and answer some of them with an expedite decision. |

@4thquarter You wrote what I was thinking of. Now what would be the criterion for Harvard to decide which people deserve "indications" and which people should wait a little longer and receive the results with everybody else?Thu Feb 16, 2012 12:02 PM Does Harvard only give people positive indications? And if so, should you freak out after receiving their "wait and receive your results with everybody else"? |

I think it depends on wheater the graduate adimission committee already has reviewed the corresponding application. I guess they rate every application according to their (secret) key. If someone asks for an expedite decision, they will answer only positively, if the result of their internal evaluation is extremely high and therefore it is somehow clear, that the applicant will be invited later.
