If nobody knew what FPLC is and nobody replied, it's because nobody ever heard of it. Frankly, it's the first time I ever heard of that establishment.

Since you absolutely want people to say something about FPLC, here goes : it's a tier 3 school according to US News and not very popular.

Otherwise, if you even tried browsing through the forum, you would have noticed that Cornell already sent out admissions letters last month.

I think that the Franklin Pierce Law Center has about the same ranking as Franklin Pierce did as President.

FPLC has a good reputation in the field of IP Law. It ranks top 5 in IP Law in U.S.A.

Thanx! :)..that is wat i found out thru the rankings...however somehow the schools reputation as such (as must be evident thru this thread!) aint very gr8! i wonder why this contradiction!..and if this is the only confirmation i end with i might wana take it up! so with that in mind..i am also a little concerned about whether i will get sufficient exposure in Patent Law at FPLC...since I intend to concentrate on Life Sciences and Patents! another hitch is i am not a science major (dont hv a science degree)..however hv an aptitude and knack for it. I am still looking into prospects of working as a Patent Attorney without a science major..and which school will let me do my own thing (even if it sounds a lil crazy)!..
looking at the responses in this discussion...i dont know if i wd get an insight into these aspects..however...il still take a chance..! so if anybody has any clue..plz do lemme know!

thanx!

Hi ta,

I think we both are sailing in the same boat, i too have an offer from them and am trying to find some reason to accept it but no positive responses as yet....

i had one of my friend at boston enquire who got all sorts of clueless responses and replies as never ever having heard about the college....

looking at the courses offered, i feel it is really worth going but i am yet perplexed.....

if you get any further info do post on this forum as it will help many....

hmm FPLC ..i was told is good for foreign students,,the disadvantage being that not many American students opt for this Institute. so the atmosphere is not as varioed as in sm place else. It was ranked very well till a few yrs back..but so great now however! ..But u know wat..all this said and done..it all depends on wat ur focus is. I was given the impression that if u intend to work in US after LLM then FPLC is not a good choice..! but the faculty i heard is good there..so as far as course content is concerned they should be good and I think they are also into lot of collaborative projects like seminars moot courts etc!
if i receive any info which cd be critical wd surely share it here! take care n good luck

FPLC managed itself to get to the fourth tier of the US NEWS 2007 rankings. I donīt want to sound negative partners, but please think harder before reaching a decision on this subject, even more if you are planning on trying to find a temporary job in the US to recover the costs of a Tier 4 education.

He guys...Im a current foreing LLM in Franklin Pierce, and so far the XP has been great. Its true is not a popular school. But that is because is very small. It was ranked #1 until 1999 in the IP rankings but it has gone down i think principally becuase more and more big and powerful schools had opened their own IP LLM programs. Before I came here i got accepted to GW that was ranked 2nd in 2004. Nevertheless when I closely check the courses, GW only offered around 12-15 IP courses, while FP offered more than 20. Another good thing is that most of LLM Programs only enable you to take up to 24-25 credits and if u want to take more u have to pay. In FP you need 30 credits and during the summer you can take up to 11 more credits free of charge. If your are a foreign attorney and interested in IP this is the school for you. I don't think the academics since 1999 when the school was 1st had change..the problem is the new competition of more powerful and famous schools in the area.
