Hello!

I am also applying for the COE for the LL.M. Any other lawyers here?
Is the College of Europe your first choice?

So I'm not lonely anymore :D
I'm applying for IRB and LAW, but still thinking about applying to Lissabon.

The motivation letter is killing me...

Did you answered all the questions for the Law application? They refer to the old treaty, don't they?

Hello everyone!

Although I know this platform is mainly used by law students, this seems to be the only place to talk about the other programmes of the CoE as well.

I am planning to apply for the European Interdisciplinary Studies programme in Natolin. Anyone else who is planning to do that? And does know how the chances are of being accepted for that specific programme?

Hey everyone,

I've been scouring the internet for the past 3 years for everything and anything on the CoE and this site seems to be the hub of everything CoE related haha so i decided to make an account here!

Unfortunately I'm not a law student (never had the patience nor the passion for it) but a history/IR student instead.

I've applied for the IRD and Political and Adminstrative Studies as my 2nd choice. Any other UK applicants here?

Oh, and GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! :)

I also applied for IRD as first choice and LAW as second. How do you did it with the 2 letters of motivation? do you wrote both in the same way, with formal cover? I'm e.g. not sure if I just could copy some parts... Do you think the same person is going to read both or is the IRD just going to the IRD-Department...?

I talk about the questions about EU Law which appear at the last page of the online application after you click on the box in the beginning of the page....

Good luck to everyone as well :)

Hey Katharina, glad to see another IRD applicant!

Since I applied for IRD and POL which have similar roots and themes, what I did was change the words and specific policies and courses I took to fit either IRD or POL but kept the basic format and structure the same.

And wait, what do you mean by formal cover? We were supposed to write it formally? I wrote it like I would for a UK Personal Statement because with 4,000 characters, I didn't think that formalities were necessary. Did I just mess up my entire application?

And I dont know actually, I wrote it differently in case the same person does read it. I don't want to give the impression that I'm lazy and to be honest, you have nothing to lose by writing it differently but everything to gain.

Wait did you mean the 2 letters of motivation for the ENP Scholarship?

I just had a heart attack until I found out that you had to do 2 formal letters for that scholarship.

Hi! It sounds like you have a good chance of being accepted then? I guess they have some sort of ratio between different countries. What is your academic background? Good luck!!

I've applied for IRD, with Interdisciplinary Studies as my second choice. I definitely prefer the IRD programme, but I think I'd rather live in Warsaw. There's been a hold-up getting one of my letters of recommendation, so I'm a bit anxious in case my application doesn't work out, even though I've checked with the admissions office. I left my last academic programme 3 years ago, so it was a bit tricky to get it sorted out. I'm also wondering if I'd be the oldest if I were to be accepted, as I'd be 32 by September!

Good luck to everyone! Judging by previous years' threads it looks like we're in for a long wait to find out if we're accepted...

It seems to vary based on course, country of origin, and scholarships. I'm applying from the UK, for a scholarship from the goverment, and I've been told that the interviews for that will be in March. I'm not sure whether that's all of the UK applicants or if that's just for this specific scholarship though.

I also wrote two letters, I just used one sentence twice, they differ a lot. I took me weeks :D

I know that my interviews will be at the 18./19.03. But I'm not sure when I get to know if I'm invited to one...

Hope to see you soon and best of luck!

Hi!
I already applied for the IRD program as first option and the Interdisciplinary studies as the second one.
Do you know if they have a quota by nationalities? Or, for example, if you are the only one from a country applying you are going to have more opportunities?

Thanks, and good luck to you all!!!

Ahh I've got a competitor for the Bruges-Naotlin Scholarship then ;) Haha but hope we both get it!

Did you have to provide them with any proof of your financial situation or anything? I found it confusing how the CoE website says its for the neediest people while the foundation website says its for the most deserving from the interview?

Or did I just read it wrong?
