I think off campus housing is even more expensive. Maybe it's not bad for a single apartment. But 1,100$ is the price for living with one roommate, and I am pretty sure you can find something a bit cheaper off campus. Why Oakland? is it cheaper? better? more convenient? I don't really understand the local rent market. I actually have no idea. I just heard from friends who live in northern california and are helping me find accomodation that living in Oakland is cheaper. However, I've heard a lot of bad things about Oakland from former students, that it's not safe

Of course the financial, study, and kind of social benefits are one thing, but the main reason for doing that is cause I will be coming with my wife. Visit www.law.berkeley.edu/14984.htm for more information on housing at Berkeley, and check back as we add updated information about off-campus housing (including a neighborhood guide). Currently we are focused on providing rental listings for the professional-track students, who arrive next month, but we will be updating information for our August arrivals within the next several weeks.

( I questioned the LLM office in regard to changing the program/certificate, and I was told that we choose the certain field during the second term) Good Luck! Phil

My last bit of information was when I was placed on the wait list, weeks ago. I've already been accepted into Santa Clara for their IP LLM program, but I would be thrilled to have an acceptance from Berkeley. Patiently waiting.
