received admission today and a big hello to everyone here. Can someone please summarize how good this program is? I've heard only positive things but then again I'm in the US and perhaps don't have a good perspective on the program.

Maude, your comments are like copied from a newspaper or something like that :)) (just kidding)...Wed Apr 05, 2006 08:08 PM it's true.... the program is very specialized.. you only study arbitration law... but when you're finished, you know everything in int'l commercial arbitration. I am first graduate of this program (2003-2004) and I've got a lot of things out of having my LLM there. I'm still in touch with the my professors from SU and I've heard they are improving the program every year. I've also heard that the competition for being addmited is really high (even higher than in some English and US celebrity law schools). So, my congratulations to Karamazov :) This program is becoming more and more prestigious every year... |

I forgot to include the acceptance numbers since some asked for it. They said they received over 300 applciations and accepted 40 people with some on the reserve list.

Hi!Mon Apr 17, 2006 05:00 PM I was reading some messages about the course. I also applied and the University told me I am in the reserve list. Universities in my coutry (Brazil) work really different, so I'm woundering if being in the reserve list means that somebody has to give up of the place so I'll have a chance, or if the admission office is still considering a few numbers of applications before the final decision... And about scholarships, take a look at the Swedish Institute web site, there are some offers there. Thanks in advance! |

Dear Carol,Mon Apr 17, 2006 08:20 PM The way I understand it they have already taken the final decision. Being on the reserve list indeed means that you will have to wait/hope for someone out of the chosen 40 applicants to turn down the offer they were made. Yet, you should not get desperate, since a high percentage will withdraw and/or turn down the offer - for different reasons (financing problems, change of mind, choice of another university, last-minute problems, etc.). Therefore, being on the reserve list is good news and you will hopefully have positive news from SU at the end of April. Good luck to you and all the best to you! |

I'd be curious to know, Raxy, how the graduates in your year went about securing employment. You mention that you do arbitrations and are busier than ever. Did your classmates who had no prior experience find employment in the field upon graduation from the program? If so, in what countries? I am from the US. I wonder if you know about the success rate of US citizens in finding jobs in the field.

Dear All! Is really worth applying for Arbitration program in SU? I understand that Stokholm is the arbitration center nevertheless the course schedule is actually designed only for a fall term (in spring students work on thesis, i.e. no regular classes). I'm a little nervous about that. Will a fall term be enough to obtain good knowledge in arbitration? I'll appreciate your answers. The alumnies' success stories are very welcomed!
