hello! i just wanna ask what are the normal credentials for accepted LLM applicants to LSE or Oxford?

I have foreign educational credentials, top 20 percent of my class, Law Review, various socio-civic/leadership works. I am currently working (fresh out of law school) in a corporate practice firm.

What are the criteria and are they strict about it? Thanks much!

The LSE states it requires a minimum US 3.5 GPA. However, I was accepted with a 3.3 after writing a short addendum to my personal statement noting that their assessment of relative US and UK degree results was rather skewed The LSE accepts UK students with a 1 or 2.1 degree, which my research indicates is a group comprising about 40-45% of UK law school grads. In my graduating class, only about 8% of students graduated with better than a 3.5, hence the 2.1=3.5 GPA standard is probably wrong. I was accepted, so I assume they either acepted the argument , or liked something else about me. ...

LSE and Oxford claim to recruit only the top 10-15% of law graduates, but I don't think they are very strict about it. Oxford requires you to submit a CV, an essay and three (!) letters of recommendation in addition to your degree certicate or transcript, which enables them to take a hollistic view of your application. In fact, I know other German students who have been rejected despite of their excellent grades, and others with particularly lower grades that got in. You should probably ask the Board of Graduate Admissions for the minimum score they ask for, as it is indeed true that people with a lower score are very unlikely to be offered admission to the university. This is simply because they receive such a huge number of applications which fulfill the academic requirements.

I am one of the best students of my year, but we do not have a gpa system. So, I do not have any evidence. I am thinking about a signed letter instead. Do I need something like that?

yes, if you do not have a GPA or class rank, then an official letter would most definitely be helpful.

Actually, I am not certain about my classrank/gpa because we do not have that system. I am certainly in the top 10 percent, but maybe I am better, I do not know. So, I will just ask for a good rank in my class/year.
