Matreshka,
Please do not listen to H F's advice. Do you actually think that the deadline for Columbia is April 1 for those who have not received an acceptance letter by that date?

I have no idea, but I think that its better not to be too relaxed about this.

What is the deposit amout for Columbia? Maybe we should try to give them a call and explain the situation?

I have just called Columbia. They told me that the deadline for my deposit payment is April 8. As far as I understand the deadline is set on the individual basis and depends on the day when the first admission e-mail was sent to a particular applicant.

I advise people who are still waiting for the formal letters from Columbia not to hurry with the payment of the deposit and better give a call to the Executive Secretary in order to find out the specific deadline for their deposit payment.

Hello,
For people who hesitate between an LLM in NYU or Columbia, rather go to Columbia if you can. I don't know about business, but in our field, the LLM in NYU is very big (you will have 20 swiss, 30 french and 40 german for instance) while the one in Columbia is much smaller. An LLM in Columbia is much better considered than one in NYU. Ok, location is better for NYU, but is that really an issue...

The argument about the size of a program is not too convincing, at least for me. I am sure that there will not be too many Russians, anyway. :)))

I'll try to talk to as many authoritative people as I can with respect to the Columbia/NYU issue and inform all of the interested parties on the results. Maybe I will even manage to draft a short memo on the pros and cons of both schools.

Hi, everyone,
I received the rejection letter (dated March 15) from U of Michigan Today. I'm in Japan. I was admitted to Columbia, Penn, Duke, Cornell, Georgetown and USC (I withdrew my positions of those other than Columbia and Georgetown). I'm still waiting for HLS and NYU.

Hey,

according to one of my US colleagues Easter Monday is not an official holiday in the US (separation of church/state issues). - So, we should be able to reach the adm. office on Monday

Kinlao,

I think that you should stop worrying. The official date for the completion of the applications review is March 25. Therefore, she told you to call the next business day after March 25. I think that all is logical. You will just have to call on Monday and see what happens. Don't try to think for the staff in HLS. I am sure that there is no mystical about their behavior.

Hi i was reading the thread on Northwestern. i got my accpetance letter from NWU for the LLM kellog program within a week of applying in February. I am really confused, I have also received acceptances from NYU, Columbia and Oxford. Do you think it is worth it to spend 70,000 on the course?
