LLM in South America

Hi everybody
I am looking for an LLM program in South America, I couldnt find anything anywhere, except for the MBL in Chile. Has somebody heard of programs offered down there taught in English??

Hello Klaus
In latin America you will only find maestrias which are equivaslent to an LLM but I am not sure thats what you looking for. maestrias (spanish for masters) are taught in Spanish and the degree you get is not LL.M. as far I know. Dont know about brazil, maybe there its different

No. I am from Colombia (south America) but the program in Chile looks very fine and very serious. I send my papers the last week but still no answer.
I have an email of a person from brasil whos taking the llm in this moment, if you want it i can send it to you but by email.
Good look with your decision but i think chile is one of the best.

Hi Santiago,
I havent received anything from the Chile program either so far. I just know that its a new program, so probably the first year will be next year. Its organized by the University of Heidelberg which many people say is the best law school in Germany so I am suire the program will be good. I dont really understand if the llm courses are in English or Spanish.
About Brasil: Si, me ínteresa mucho la email de tu amigo, mucha sgracias por tu ayuda. No sé, sin embargo, si podria hacer un LLM en Brasil, solo hablo un pocito de Portugues.. Parece que los programas alli son unicamente en Portugues, verdad?

Klauss: El programa de chile ya lleva desde el 2002, y toda la información esta en internet, en la pagina del center. El brasilero que te dije esta actualmente tomando el programa de heilderberg y ahora esta en la parte de realización de la tesis., dispuestos a salir en Marzo a Alemania.
De Brasil la verdad no se mayor cosa, pero deben ser en portugues. Y el LLm de hedelberg es en Español con lecturas en ingles.

Entonces no queda mucho tiempo tines razon, gracias por avisarme! Tu ya mandaste todos los papeles a Heidleber/Chile? Y tu amigo, dice que este programa la pena? Por lo que se yo vale unos 6.000 de Euro asi que es mas caro que los programas en Londres..

Klaus: Mi amigo el brasilero dice que es muy bueno y a el le parece exelente lugar para vivir santiago. Yo ya aplique pero no se si me han aceptado. La persona de contacto alla es el Dr. Gamboa el cual me facilitó el mail del estudiante actualmente.
Cuales has visto de menos de E6.000 en Uk que me sigue interesando porque yo como latino quisiera estudiar en otro idioma, por eso en parte me decidi por heidelberg por las clases de aleman gratis.
Pero hasta que no me acepten pues no hay decición tomada.

No sé quanto te cobran ahora pero un amigo, que hizo su LLM con University of London (UCL), sólo pagó unos 4.500 EUR. Pero eso fue en 2000 asi que es muy possible que hayan augmentado los precios. De todas formas deberia ser menos de 6.000 EUR es seguro.
Si estas buscando LLM baratos: En Alemania the cobran solo unos 1.000 EUR normalmente pero muchos programas son en Alemàn. Sie quie5res puedes utilizar el LLM Program Search, pones Alemanioa e Ingles.

Hola Santiago! Si, he mandado los papeles hace unos dieas. Parece que tenemos que esperar hasta Marzo para una decision, al menos esto es la fecha paramandar las applicaciones. Ya veremos.
A proposito de Londres: Los precios bajas que te habia dicho solo valen para Europeos (UE), para los demas los precios son much o mas altos (unos 18.000 EUR creo..) asi que el LLM de Chile resulta mas barato.
