ANY NEWS ON NUS??
Leo,Wed May 31, 2006 06:23 AM I sent a mail to the housing department as I also had the same doubts.I asked 'em whether there wud be seperate hosuing available in Bukit timah and if not how far the present accomodation is from the Bukit timah campus. i got an autoreply saying tht they wud need sometime to reply coz this is their busiest working period. I guess the formalities with respect to visa wud be taken care by NUS itself.So we neednt worry abt right away.The next hitch is housing. |

got my admissions package today. been offered the Faculty Graduate Scholarship for the full tution amount and some more for airfare and stipend. but don't think will be taking up on that.

hey all.Sat Jun 03, 2006 11:06 AM sent my letter of acceptence yesterday. as is apperant from the offer package, the university have already applied for our visa, all we have to do is to fill up a form online(the address is given in the offer letter itself) and wait for two weeks for confirmation. sounds simple enough. the medical reports will have to be submitted at the time of registration. has anyone started with SOLAR application? as it is given that, the same must be done within three weeks from the date of offer, which happens to be 19th April. hi allWed Jun 07, 2006 03:10 AM what's your enrolment date? mine is 21st,July. so far as i know, GH,the student hall,is a bit far from our new campus. but they must have shuttle bus.so dont worry. do you submit SOLAR? my SOLAR has been approved and the next thing is waiting again for sending me the approved letter from NUS. nic [Edited by nicstyle on 08 Jun 2006] |

HI...Thu Jun 08, 2006 04:39 AM my enrollment date is also 7th august...i wud be reaching there on 3rd august..... when are u guys reaching?? as far as accomodation goes...gillman seems very reasonable..however if u r not cost-conscious u can get accomodation closer to bukit timah....though s'pore is well connected n i dnt think reaching bt from gillmans wud be much of an affair.... external shuttle from gillmans to NUS main..n from there i guess there wud be some sort of a univ shuttle to BT...though not really sure on this Cheers |

hey all.Thu Jun 15, 2006 08:56 AM i mailed nus for the probable date of depatching IPA letter but till date no reply. charan, i got a mail from SOLAR asking me to check my status which says approved. i think the wait game is still on. i have made my tickets for 2nd of August. One more thing charan, the date of registration is mentioned in the offer letter. check it out. if god so wishes, we will all be in singapore by the first week of August. Regards. |

Born in a land blessed with golden beaches, swaying palms and friendly people......go. go..Goa..Till a few weeks ago was an Advocate practising on the Original Side of the Bombay High Court ....was mainly into Admiralty and Maritime Law. It's gonna be quite a change ...being confronted with a class room instead of a court room. So guy's don't be surprised if you find me addressing the Profs at NUS as "My Lord" or "Your Lordship"... Hey Guys!!Fri Jul 14, 2006 05:45 AM What's the latest on the accomodation scene? Had applied for acco at Gilman Heights, got an offer for a Type B room which I accepted.....haven't heard from Residential Services since then. What's the scene like with your acco applications? Has anybody got a confirmed acco at Gilman Heights? This long wait is indeed killin' me....patience I guess is the name of the game....but patience also has its limits.....I won't be surprised if I start head butting people( a la Zidane) when my patience starts running out. :) Have a great day!! Is there anyone planning to take the exemption test for common law legal reasoning and writiing? (I'm from a civil law country, so the course is compulsary). Is there suppose to be a registraion form that we need to fill? Anyways, I guess you guys are already in the final stage of preparation before departing to s'pore? I have a flight out of India on the 27th of July ., therefore as an act of abundant caution I have applied for an entry visa...hope to get the either the visa or the IPA letter before the 27th. i found out that they would be despatching the ipa letter this week n we should be getting it this week.however....this is what i hear everytime....apparently no faculty including law has not been so disorganised till now...guess we r the privileged bunch!
