Justgina,Thu Apr 20, 2006 09:30 PM As you probably already know, Uconn is ranked 50..that's not so good. If I was you I would not go there if you plan to work in the US after your LLM. However, if you plan to go back to your country after graduation, why not UConn? You'll get there a good personnal and academic experience. I heard that the program is quite short (few people) and that's a good point for Uconn. |

Mon May 01, 2006 09:20 PM Does anyone have information about UConn? An American professor at my German university told me about it and highly recommended it. So did other graduates from there.I don't kow what all this ranking is about when you don't consider staying in the US after graduation. Even if you do so it's not that bad: UConn has very good connections to the NYC job market according to a book describing law schools (Sorry, I forgot the name of it). To prove it go on the web site of Dechert, Price & Rhoads: They interview regularly students from there. Some schools have better standings at employers than you would think from looking at the ranking: It's the same with Fordham or Emory. Apart from that: Connecticut has a beautiful campus (the whole state is gorgeous) and it's only two hours from NYC, compared to five at Cornell. |

I would like to know which is the strongest area of law in UCONN. Im thinking about their LLM in U.S. Legal Studies, but I wanna have a concentration in one of their areas which are IP, International human rights, tax and insurance. But I would like to choose an area that will help me find a job in US after finishing the LLM.

U Conn is a very good school and particularly very strong in Insurance laws. This is one of the very good schools and a great location in Hartford.
