Hello, classmates admitted to NYU LLM this fall. I was told by a friend who is studing at NYU Law that LL.M students who are awarded scholarships can apply for research assistant positions. This is indeed correct. The positions are Research Associate though and not Reseach Assistant. I have applied for the function but I am still waiting for confirmation from NYU. Does anyone else know anything more?

Hi, Misterlate, great to meet you. I'm in General Studies. Are you a Hauser or Vanderbilt or other scholar?

This is in addition to the RA positions offered to the scholars.Tue Apr 25, 2006 10:42 AM i have been reliably told that Research Assistant positions at NYU are advertised in a newsletter you will receive regularly once you arrive here, called "The Docket". |

Hi, do you guys know the "docket" is available on-line? Just take a look at the "current students" link at the NYU Law web site...

Hi,Misterlate, I am awarded the same one, Vanderbilt. BTW, information in our letters notice that the Vanderbilt represents the full tuition. But I knew from the web that scholarships in U.S. shall be subject to taxes. Do u know whether we still need to pay any differences? Or the whole tuition will be offset by the scholarship? Hope we don't have a tax legal issue.

I am not completely sure but I think that a scholarship is only subject to taxes if it exceeds the total cost of tuition + living + health insurance +.... Did you already receive notification from NYU regarding the professor you will be working for?

Not yet. One of my friends who was in NYU Law last year told me that it is recommended to directly contact the prof. you prefer to work with. This will help the prof. to know your research interests better.
