well about housing, as you know belgian universities do not provide housing for their students. so you have to find house by yourself. VUB is next to ULB so you better try to find a studio near Louise Avenue or Schumann (where the EU buildings are). these are the best locations since they are very quite neighborhoods and closeto the center. rents are ranking between 400-500 euros per month all inclusive(this means that you will not have to pay any bill for electricity, gas, internet and sometimes tv). of course you can find cheaper ones but they will be 16 square metres. try to come as soon as possible since it is really dificult to find a house in brussels. so many people are coming (students, diplomats, journalists, business men etc). you will have to pay a deposit usually two or three months in advance, which you will take back at the end of your studies. according to belgian law you can sign a document with your landlord which will say that you deposit these money in a common account in a bank and in case of disagreement with him he cannot take them unless you give your permission.

I am also in belgium this year. geoman is right. i have a common account with my landlord. so if we have any disagreement over the deposite, noone can claim the money without the approval of the other. so newcomers be sure that before you sign any contract ask this from your landlord. geoman what are you studying and where in belgium?

Hey,

I'm interested in taking a course at VUB. Is it possible to work during the course to help pay fo the living expenses?
Also, can anyone comment on the quality of the International and Comparative Law program?
Thanks

Of course, Eastern Europe is much cheaper, but compared with cities as Paris and London, Brussels is extremely cheap.

Hi everyone!

I'm concerning to apply for LL.M in Belgium and I'm very concerned about housing. The price 400-500 euros is for a room or an apartment. I need an apartment, because I'm coming with a kid. Does somebody know about the prices?
I'll very thankful if you write me a response here or through my e-mail: maria_007@inbox.ru
