Could anyone tell me where I could find some English-taught LLM schools in Europe (besides the obvious Great Britain and Holland). I have also checked Scandinavian schools and schools in Belgium. Are there any/many in Germany, for instance? I am looking for affordable schools that aren't overly picky in their admissions criteria. Thank you!!!Fri Apr 28, 2006 09:27 AM Kathleen |

Check out the programme offered in UCIHL in Geneva on International Humanitarian Law. The tuitions are 10000 euros but there are scholarships. Also look at the University of Malta. Also Latvia offers a LLM taught in english. But for what subject are you interested on?

Thank you for responding. I wasn't able to write back very soon b/c I had a log in problem. Are the scholarships given in most countries given to students from the home countries from what you have heard? Are there any given to Americans? I looked at Malta, but I don't understand the money situation there; I cannot understand if the tuition is for each class (which seems pretty high) or if it is for the whole program. I am interested in Latvia, but it doesn't seem to be too centrally located (same w/ Malta) although I am not discounting either. Have you heard of any good scholarships.Fri May 26, 2006 08:10 PM I am interested in International Law or Mediation and Arbitration but am still not certain if I am DEFINITELY going to do either of those. Thank you again!!! Katie |

By the way, has anyone heard about the LLM (EMLE) program that is held in several countries (one country per semester). I would like some opinions about how hard it is and how people who were a part of the program took care of their expenses while abroad.Fri May 26, 2006 08:12 PM THANKS!!! Katie |

The Spanish Instituto de Empresa offers an executive LLM, and I believe all the classes are in English. |

There is an LLM in french and european law in english taught at the university of cergy-pontoise. I have been told that some of the seminars are taught within the international legal firms to help students meet with attorneys. My brother wants to join their new double LLM programme next year in Business and environmental law with the university of Dundee. You can still apply online for 2007-2008

Go on the university of Cergy-Pontoise website (Paris). The LLM in french and european is very interesting and complete with lots of contacts within international law firms. It is not too expensive compared to other LLMs but I don't think it will last for ever because the law school gains in reputation. I was graduated from this law school and entered NYU.Fri Jul 27, 2007 10:41 AM Good luck www.u-cergy.fr (see the english pages). |
