Hello people!
It seems i have joined this forum pretty late, but was wondering if anyone could help me choose the university for doing an LLM in International Trade Law. I have conditional offers from
Nottingham, Warwick, Durham, Essex, Leeds, Liverpool, Cardiff and Manchester; and I cant make a priority list.
Thanks a lot.

I would say Manchester , Warwick , Nottingham , Durham or leeds

essex , liverpool and cardiff are good universities but i wouldnt say a pirority

Now if you prefer city life .. chose manchester , Nottingham or leeds

if your more into Campus life go to warwick
if you would prefer a nice quite place go to Durham

I would go for Manchester over Nottingham and Leeds
Warwick is an intersting place ( I regret that i didnt apply)
Durham is great place away from the city life

Tnx Anoos.

There is another thing that i was worried about though. The Delhi Univ declares its final results pretty late, somewhere in late August. And since most courses begin by end Sept, i was wondering if it would be too late for seeking an unconditional offer, then a visa etc.

Also, i understand that accommodation bookings have to be done well in advance. Since i am yet to receive a final offer, i dont know for sure where I will be joining. So how do i book an accommodation?

Any ideas??

Hi, I went to Manchester to do my LLB and had a great time+ the law department has a great reputation.
I do have to say though, that although Warwick itself is an interesting place, the university itself is in Coventry which is not interesting!!! Onthe otherhand the reputation of the law department is also fantastic( I applied to Warwick too).

when you finally chose the place where you want to go , contact them and explain your situation , but actully I think you will still do have time to send your results and mange with the Visa but you should be moving fast ..

I THINK ( not sure) that you can start booking your accomidation after accepting the offer

where did you decide to go?

joydey: not sure

I am not sure yet where exactly i might be going. But high probabilities are of Manchester. or next would be Durham. My chances in Nottingham and Warwick seem bleak, since I may not be able to fulfil their condition.
where r u these days?

I don't think you should worry too much about applying for the visa etc. From what I understand, the process is relatively simpler for UK so long as yuo can show that you have the financial means to finance your studies.

International trade means different things to different people, but Nottingham is certainly very strong in the field, whether the focus is the private or public side of the subject. Its LLM in International Commercial Law offers a wide range of modules to choose from.

Joyday,

I just finished my LLM in Manchester and can tell u i had a great time, both as a law student and outside the uni life.
one of the great thing about manchester indeed is that it is really one of the fastest growing universities in terms of investments and reputation; the school of law is one of the most well regarded within the university.
alongside the uni you have a great city which is second only to london with plenty of offers, from restaurants to nights, pubs, concert halls etc... and everything is affordable!
as for the accomodation, i would suggest to make ur choice asap as the uni guarantee a place to all new students, but the earlier the better in terms of choice.

ciao for now
