human rights continental europe
hey guys, i'm currently brooding about wich postgraduate in human rights to apply for in continental europe - i've excluded the UK-unis from my list.. still not sure as to whether an LLM or a MA (like in venice) is the best choice - what are your opinions on that? what would be your pros and cons? (i've finished 4-year law studies in vienna by the way..) thinking about the MA in venice, the LLM in lunds, the CEU, Maastricht.. would be great if you could let me know what you have heard about those or other good programs!! thanks a lot in advance, isla

I don't really know much about the MA although it seems to be a popular choice and I have been told it is worth doing. Regarding the LLMs you mention I think you need to look at if you want to do a taught or a research LLM (I was advised against the latter),Sun Jun 11, 2006 07:01 PM I start the LLM in Lund in September and have only really heard good things- apart from the administration is a bit slow! I would suggest applying for more than 1 LLMs (I applied for 4)- a lot of them, especially the good ones, are very competative. Work experience is always a bonus. The Human Rights LLMs in Utrecht and Groningen look very good and all of the Dutch Unis have a good reputation. I hope that helps, Steph |
