what to do about confirmation deadline?

Does anyone have the same problem?

I have received a offer from Lancaster, which I am to accept or decline within 4 weeks, but I''m still waiting for KCL to either make an offer or a rejection. Since my application to KCL has been on stage 1 for 4 weeks already it doesn't seem likely that I will hear from them within 4 weeks.

What to do? and does anyone know how many of those stages there are?

THanks so much in advance!

At KCL there are 5 stages...I suggest you to accept Lancaster at the moment and wait for KCL admission. Accepting without paying is possible

I have the same problem. Can I accept and later withdraw? Is that a usual practice?

Happened to me.. got an offer at one uni and thought that was it (and accepted it) then got another offer from another uni and was like, "Dammit".

What I did was that I went to the British Council, asked them to contact the first uni and say that I wanna cancel my place there (they got me to write a letter saying that due to personal reasons I can't follow thru with my acceptance of the offer). Then I accepted the 2nd offer. Peasy.

what i cant get is what would happen if you accept more than offer ?!!! its for free .. i have 4 offers i didnt accept any of them yet but i was thinking about accepting all of them and then decide later .. they didnt ask for any payments in the offer letters ,, so what would be the problem with doing that ?

Actually AnoosLaw the British Council told me it was illegal. If you accept an offer from 2 places at the same time they can actually sue you if you end up attending one uni and not the other (that is IF they find out). Your best bet would be to make up your mind asap and cancel your other confirmations.

Oh and not all offer acceptances are free! Sometimes you have to pay a deposit, like with City for example.

Each institution handles their admissions and registrations differently. Some will allow you to accept places without having to sign a contract until closer to the start of term. Others will expect you to be 100% sure before you sign. I would be surprised if many institutions would pursue legal action to reclaim lost fees - perhaps MBA's or the most expensive of LL.Ms would.

I'd suggest you carefully read your terms and conditions of acceptance from each institution before you decide what to do.
