Accommodation
Dear friends going to TCD,Fri Jul 07, 2006 06:41 PM today I got an e-mail from an Irish girl and was told that if you want to get an on-Campus accomodation you should apply at National College Ireland as soon as possible. Did anyone make up his/her mind about it? Maybe we should try to be living closer to each other? Greetings |

Hi, Fri Aug 25, 2006 03:01 PM I have done the LLM in TCD and I would strongly recommend that you do not take college accomodation. TCD residences are either in the very center of the city (Goldsmith Hall, Botany Bay) or at the other end of the city (Trinity Hall). There are loads of debilitating rules such as : no parties without authorisation, no parties after 12 PM, not more than 12 people in an appartment's common room... and the prices are not that competitive. If you check out www.daft.ie you might find roommates rather easily. Just steer clear of neighbourhoods such as Christchurch (especially around St Patrick's cathedral) where you'll have opportunities for being mugged almost daily. Cheers ! |

generally most students in dublin would stay around the harolds cross area and are general considered to be safe - with common sence precautions as dublin like all big cities does have its inherent problems - but i would definatly agree with staying away from christchurch area its nice during the day but otherwise stay out. Daft.ie is a good website to check out for accom. also if you are in dublin searching try the lettings section of the evening herald. may be trinity college would also have listings.
