hey guys....am a practising lawyer frm India (LLB), planning to pursue LLm next fall (2007). i was a bit tied up btween JD/LLM as job prospects are apparently better for JD students. Am not to sure whther LLB graduates frm foreign countries have to take the LSAT. Also if any one cud help which universities provide the 2 yr JD prog for Internaitonal LLB students, besides North Western and also which Universities allow conversion of LLM to JD after the LLm.
If any one cud help me with this.....

LLM. admissions do not require LSAT.
LSAT is only required for J.D., no matter 2 year or 3 year program.

However, please check the website of the lawschool you want to apply for sure.

Most lawschool do not allow LLM-J.D. transferring (they will post in the website), however, you should contact the admissions office for more precise answer.

thnx pra608. Do u have any idea whether there is any possibility of getting an LSAT waiver as being in India, its not possible to appear for the same as there are no centres in or around India. So its not economically viable to fly doen all the way to the US or any other country to give the LSAT

LSAT is different from TOEFL. It does not depend on what your mother language are. LSAT is the main factor of the J.D. admission selection process.

You can check at www.lsac.org/ whether you can take the exam at India or not. If not, you may have to go to U.S. and take it. This is one of the reason why LLM is much more popular among international students.
