hello terkiana,
Do you attend a LL.M in NYC right now or it's a project for next year?

NYU shouldn't be a problem to get into, I think. With 450 students each year I guess they can't be picky about who to accept as students.

Hi Danielle. I also applied to NYU corporate law LLM. As far as I know, the program requires a good background and experience about corporate law. The other requirements are same as the other NYU LLM programs.

I'm suprised Ivan hasn't posted anything up here yet, but he's currently at NYU. He also has a blog on this very site, where he answers a few questions and discusses pertinent issues. If you scroll down on the Home page you should find it. Hope it helps.

Hi!
Danielle: I think if you had some experience/ internship related to the corporate law area it would be a plus. In any case, I would recommend you to work hard to make a good essay and try to get some really convincing recommendation letters. A good recommendation letter is one that says some "personal" things about you (i.e. how you were as a student/ professional, your specific skills, how good you were in comparison with your colleagues). And donīt forget this: Americans always write very enthusiastic recommendation letter (saying things like "... is the best" or "brightest", etc.). You know, the typical stuff that would make an European blush... However, thatīs the way it works here... If your recommendation letter is not enthusiastic, they may think that you did not deserve any special compliment...
