TOEFL's Test of Written English Score
Hello everyone!Wed Sep 13, 2006 04:22 PM My name is Marcelo Pupe and I am from Brazil. I have plans to apply for a LLM in Canada but I guess I have a problem. Some universities such as Toronto and British Columbia set as admission's requirement a 250 TOEFL score, as well as a 5 score in the Test of Written English section. I took the TOEFL last march and my current score is 273. However, my TWE score is 4.5. Would you still encourage me to apply, bearing in mind they might take other aspects under consideration? Hi there, i would recommend that you contact the admissions people via email or phone and ask them for advise. But in all honesty, I think you should apply because, unless they have minimums set in stone, they will look at the canadidate as a whole. With regards to universities, I believe UBC, U of T, and McGill are the best of the best. UBC is becoming more and more recognized internationally - especially since its the major hub of the Asia-Pacific.

I will apply and considering my total score is good, I don't think I'll have problems in course-based LLMs. In fact, I understand spoken and written English way better than I write. Moreover, I have been chating with someone from China who is now at McGill and he said my TOEFL score is pretty good for McGill and they offer couse-based LLM.. TOEFL's Test of Written English Score
some UNIs prefer this or some English proficiency to know that students are capable of learning their courses at the very basic standard - English I presume. However, for some countries of the Pacific IELTS is the equivalence. U appear to have a good score I gather - good luck!
