Seach of an LLM in international tax
I think most of the universities better ranked in this field do not offer a 100% online LLM (although they sometimes offer online courses). Try to take a look at www.llmprogram.org/ (it is the only online program I recall now).

Seach of an LLM in international tax
Hi You can see for St Thomas University which offers the LLM Int Tax. But its very expensive for an online program. The reputation of the school is also not very well established. But if u are bent upon spending that muuch money while at home you can ask them. You can with the same amount enroll in many good universities for the program in tax provided you have 9-10 months luxury to be away fm your job/family/children

Seach of an LLM in international tax
I am currently a student in the Int'l Tax Program at Thomas Jefferson. I was very wary at first since I did not know of the school and graduated from a top tier law school. However, I can say that the program is extremely high quality and the students and the faculty are second to none. The online classroom software also delivers a real classroom experience from anywhere in the world. I would recommend this program to anyone, especially for international tax studies. Wed Jan 28, 2009 09:40 PM A word of caution is that the program only accepts students with a highly impressive track record of past work experience. You will be in classes with current and experienced practitioners, many of whom that work for some very impressive and even worldwide organizations. There are also serveral dignitaries of foreign nations. If you are new to the tax and finance world or if you just graduated from law school and do not have current employment in tax, int'l tax, estate planning, finance, ect., then you will be out of place in this program. Edit: The program at Thomas Jefferson is the same program that used to be at St. Thomas. [Edited by WPL Lawyer on 28 Jan 2009] |

Seach of an LLM in international tax
Dear WPL LawyerThu Mar 05, 2009 07:15 PM Many thanks for your reply which i much appreciate. I have considered the prospect of joining the Thomas Jefferson International Tax Masters by distance learning and i have to say that i have found it intriguing the least. But, considering that this is my first year in practise and that i still have a lot to learn from a practical perspective i decided that at the moment it would not be wise to undertake such a difficult LLM. However, i am currently enrolled in an international masters by distance learning and at the same time working and learning the Cyprus Companies and Tax Law (the Cyprus Tax Regime attracts numerous Clients, have us in mind for possible future TAX Structures -0% withholding tax on outgoing dividends, lowest corporate tax in the European Union, very nice double tax treaties with Russia Ukraine and India). Again thank you for your reply and please give my regards to Prof. William Byrnes Best Regards Xaphs84 |
