Hi, there are two options:Fri Jan 16, 2009 01:53 AM - you can either start in Sacramento in spring semester and continue afterwards in fall semester in Salzburg where you will also graduate, OR - you can start in Salzburg and continue and graduate in Sacramento (in this case you can either stay the whole semester or take intensive 6weeks course and afterwards participate in a 10-12 week internship anywhere in the world). I decided to start in Salzburg (focus on European law) and to continue in Sacramento staying the whole semester. Now I am having my first week in Sacramento and it is great! As well as I enjoyed the European part. Just count on the fact that both parts are really hard and time consuming but it is worth doing this. The tuition is (used to be) USD 24,000 for both semesters, whereas there is an option to obtain a general scholarship in the amount of USD 6,000 from the law school. However, you can try to apply for any other scholarship to cover these costs. In Salzburg you should count approx. EUR 700,-/month, in the USA they recommend to have USD 1,500/month but it seems to me that it can be lower and still comfortable (anyway books cost about USD 300 - 400). Both schools are great and all courses are taught by real professionals, people with couple of years of practice in several institutions so it is very practical approach of teaching. Thank you for your info, V. My email to you was returned. How do you pay for housing? I checked their website and it's about $620 a month for a studio. That's my concern. Is Sacramento an expensive city to live? I am in Puerto Rico, a 2L now, will finish May 2010. Thanks. Martha

HiHi, that is strange with that mail box :(.Mon Jan 19, 2009 07:07 PM Anyway, I am sharing an appartment with an American student (each of us has own bedroom with bed :), wardrobe, table and chair and basin) and we share bathroom (shower and toillet) and downstairs we have kitchen and living room. Altogether we pay USD 950 + electricity (approx. USD 70/month) so each of us pay about USD 510. I think it is a cheaper option because the appartment is furnished. I don' t know how it is in case of a studio (just check it). Sacramento is quite expensive (at least for me) especially as for food...when I applied for visa I was required to have USD 1,500/month. Well, if you cook and don' t travel around so much USD 1,000/month (incl. accommodation) could be sufficient. It depends on your demands ;) but rather count on something more to be sure your stay is covered and you will not get stressed in the meantime ;). Saved money is always good ;).
