To those who mentioned the absence of receiving the results from LSE,

I'd like to know if you received any information these days. My application remains "under consideration", despite the fact that the deadline of 8-weeks has expired.

Tks,

Program is closed to overseas students. I gave them a call and said nobody else can be fitted into program. Maybe more slots will become available once Oxbridge UCL etc make their offers and people drop out???

Hello. its been nine weeks since my documentation for LSE was complete. My application is still under consideration. I called LSE and asked them if 'programme closed' means I will be rejected anyway, and she said no. I cant give you any further information than that your application is still under consideration!!!

Hey Catty,

LSE quote that living costs might amount to approximately £13,000. I suspect that it might be slightly cheaper than that, but I hope that helps.

A word of warning - completely ignore LSE's estimation of living costs. You can live a lot cheaper than what they say you can.

I got an unconditional offer today!
Now, I have to decide between Cambridge and LSE. Very hard choice...

I've also got an offer from Cambridge...but not for the LLM. Still a difficult decision though.

Why are you finding it so difficult to chose between lse and cambridge? I thought (perhaps incorectly) that the consensus was that Cambridge was much better, no?
Or are there other considerations, like funding, living in the City etc... that are troubling you?

In order to decide I have to take into account the possibility of obtaining a scholarship from a Brazilian entity, which does not grant scholarships for Cambridge. Additionally, the LLM Program of LSE is more popular in Brazil in comparison with Cambridge - considering the number of Brazilians (lawyers and PhDs) that study at Cambridge and LSE. In terms of quality, I think that both are excellent. I’m a little bit confused…

I don't think its quite that straight forward. One of my tutors spent half an hour explaining to me why LSE would be a better choice for me than Cambridge if I was seriously considering socio-legal studies. And she's a tutor that I have a lot of respect for.

sure, rankings and university comparisons are a little goofy to begin with, but isn't it accepted that cambridge and oxford comprise tier one unis, so to speak; and lse, ucl, and kcl are the tier two uk players? I think comparing unis within the same tier is pointless, largely because any difference between them is going to be marginal, but it isn't illegitimate to observe that the tiers themselves exist, and to compare unis on that basis, is it?
The same goes with the american unis: comparisons between harvard and yale are largely meanignless, but comparisons between harvard and, say, duke aren't, are they?
Having said all that, I agree that it isn't quite that simple and that one must look to the strengths of each school in the context of one's proposed course of study. Oxford for jurisprdence, cantab for international law etc...

Mine too is still "under consideration." Word on the street is that each LLM programme has its own time frame. Anyone heard about the Human Rights LLM yet?

I think "under consideration" is a good news.
I has already got notified about my " being unsuccesful...." on LSE foryou website last month.
Good lucks to those have't gotten the results. I guess you are on the waiting list and have really some chances to get in.

I am wondering if there are still people waiting for a responce from lse. I applied late, but it's been more then 8 weeks since then. Anyone who has news from lse would ease my anxiety!

I am also still waiting for them... But if that can calm you down, if your application is also "under consideration" we still have a chance as that means that they will be considered (that's what told me a person from the Graduation Office)

I too am still "under consideration" and applied very late so you are not alone.

Does anyone know if it is possible in reality to get a place if you have a 2:1 (and, to be frank, are a fairly mediocre student) at undergraduate?

Good luck

I think that you fulfil the conditions for admission in the LLM with a 2:1 LLB. Follow the link for more informations: www.lse.ac.uk/collections/studentRecruitment/count…

I know in theory you can get in with a 2:1 but was unsure what your chances are in practice?
