shoortie - Wed Feb 14, 2007 08:58 PM i would think hard about choosing GT over UF. if you want to go to the northeast after the LLM, then yes, GT would probably be the better choice. otherwise, i would give it some serious thought b/c UF carries alot of weight with the rest of the country and costs much less. |

branson 1-Thu Feb 15, 2007 12:27 AM thanks for your advice! I do plan on practicing in the DC or NYC area so that's why i am leaning toward GT for now. eventually i'd like to go abroad and GT is more well known internationally. however, i haven't really decide on anything yet. so advice from all posters are welcome! I have heard GT is a distant 3rd and the education is noticably less rigorous than nyu or uf. I would think unless you wanted to stay in DC UF would be better.

While I would agree that NYU is clearly the No. 1 program, I would disagree on GT being a "distant 3rd" in any respect. UF is no longer included in the LLM interview program that is held each February in DC; it is now only open to NYU and GT students.Mon Apr 02, 2007 10:34 PM Having worked at both the DOJ and the Tax Court, I can tell you that you can't get much better opporunities than those provided in Washington. And now I am working at a large firm in NYC, so I didn't miss anything by not attending NYU. [Edited 02 Apr 2007 by GTLLM2006] |

It's weird that I have not received any response form NYU. Do you guys think I should call them again?

I just wrote NW enquiring about my status (haven't heard from them since they told me my TOEFL failed to reach them a month ago). And they sent me my admission via email like 4 hours after I sent out my email. |
