the last news I had from CLS was that my application was completed. It was about a month ago, I haven't received any news since then either.......

Hi I was rejected 4 days ago, though still I can't understand the Thu Feb 22, 2007 07:58 AM reason. Does anybody know, what is the average GPA Columbia accepts with? |

They don't care much about GPA... a friend of mine was accepted with a 2.59 GPA...

i think its too early for rejections. from reading the posts here, it seems like CLS does the admission on a rolling basis, so I doubt there's any trend going on.

Now come Ana - be more mature than thatThu Feb 22, 2007 04:06 PM the admissions process tends not to follow a domino effect all the time - you and for that matter I or any1 else will receive what is due to us |

From reading previous entries, I know that the admissions are being received by email. Are the rejections being sent by email as well, or by regular post?

Realmcoy:Thu Feb 22, 2007 04:41 PM I would appreciate your abstinence from making any assesment about my person. It is not your business! I think all participants on this board deserve respect. If I asked a question is because I am not familiar with the system and I just wanted to know about it. It is a pitty that someone with such manners is a candidate to an LLM program. Now come Ana - be more mature than that [Edited 22 Feb 2007 by Ana30] |

Well: If ur intention was to hurt me - i take no offence - just flew past my earsThu Feb 22, 2007 06:35 PM To get on with the business of giving an issue-wise reply to yr post: 1. I made no assessment of your person 2. I never meant to be disrespectful 3. There is no "system" here - the admissions process is opaque and applicants can never know of any trend in decisions 4. Ultimately you always get what is due to you in life: nothing more, nothing less 5. One's manners having NOTHING to do with admission to an LLM Program - its a different matter you want to show pity to those without manners out of the goodness of your heart 6. I hv received a good upbrining and possess manners sufficient to accord respect to people 7. I am waiting to hear from CLS too - but I know I will get what is due to me - may be a rejection or may be I will be accepted All I was saying was there is no single point in time during the early phases of the decisions cycle beyond which you are bound to receive a rejection. I wish you well and I hope you make it to CLS! |

Law and Economics
I got an email yesterday saying that I was admitted to the LL.M. Program in Columbia. I am still under consideration for the J.S.D. Program. Last week I received an email with my rejection in the associates-in-law program.Sat Feb 24, 2007 06:53 PM Now, I am waiting for an answer from Harvard, Yale and Chicago. I am also expecting answers about my application for Ph.D. programs in Economics (Columbia and Yale). My subject area is Law and Economics - does anyone have an opinion about this specialization in those Universities? |

Everybody I know who is interested in Law & Economics have Chicago as one of their favorite options.

If you read the earlier postings, some have also received rejection emails. From what I can deduce from all of the postings, Columbia works on a rolling basis, so basically as soon as they evaluate a file they release their decision to the applicant. It probably just takes so long since they have tons of applications to go through. Very nervewracking indeed!

I would not be worried with the long time to got an answer from Columbia. In my case was clearly that they operate in a rolling basis.Tue Feb 27, 2007 01:49 AM It seems to me that your chances are not related to the time they take to answer you. Good luck for all you. |
