Hey guys!
I got an offer from University of Edinburgh for LLM in Commercial Law but I'm not sure whether to accept it because I don't know what laws are taught at Edinburgh.
Is it Scottish law, English law or International law?
I have to make sure that it's the English law or International law coz I have to bring the knowledge back to work at law firms in my country.

Thanks all guys for answers!

Hi Tang - you should go to www.law.ed.ac.uk and get hold of one of the following staff members' email address, or contact the general address at law@ed.ac.uk with your questions

You can be sure that your subjects will be international in nature when you consider the backgrounds of the commercial law programme tutors:

Ms Gillian Black: e-commerce and sale of goods; data protection; personality rights in contract and intellectual property; contract law and contract damages.

Dr Parker Hood: commercial law, particularly banking law and lender liability; company law; the law of obligations.

Ms Laura Macgregor: the law of agency, including comparative aspects, particularly South African, French and German law, Unidroit and PECL; insurance law, specifically duties of good faith and subrogation; comparative contract law; unjustified enrichment.

Dr Mathias M. Siems: company law; banking and securities law; comparative law; law, finance, and economics; European private law.

Mr Scott Wortley: debt and debt enforcement; insolvency processes; rights in security and diligence; property law.

I hope that info is of help.

Glad to help. Remember too, that the University has open days, where you can come and visit, ask questions, look round the campus and get a feel for the city. If you can take advantage of those days it might be further assistance to your decision making.
