Hi, I have an overall bandscore of 6.5 in the IELTS-test.
Many universities require an overall bandscore of 7,0. Is there any chance, that these universities still accept my application and send me an offer with my test result?Or is it necessary to repeat the test?

Yes, it is possible but they will probably send you a conditional offer and you should take some English course/s as part of your matriculation.

Given that it varies from one place to another, it wouldn't be a bad idea to check this first with those Unis you're going to apply to.

Dear kathi24,

Why don't you try it again?

as far as I know there are new roules in concern of how often you can do the ielts-test. Earlier there was this three months "quarantine" between each attempt, but I think they have stopped with that. So you can probably do it as often as you want now.

I know that the universities I've applied to don't accept applicants which do not meet the language-requirements, but this probably vary.

Hi,

I would like to know how shall I send the hardcopy of my IELTS certificate to the university? I could not find any information on this. Is just a normal copy sufficient or shall I undergo the common legalisation presedure - the same as by legalisation of my diplom and transcript of records.

as from my experience, you can just send your ielts report even a duplicate to the admissions office. but some institutions may ask for original one. and I am quite sure it is not neccessary to undergo the legalisation presedure..

Hi,

I have applied to UCL and i have got overall band of 7 in IELTS. Now the problem is that i needed 7.5 bands overall.Does anyone knows whether they will accept my application and give me an offer.

They may make you a conditional offer. Then, you need to take a pre-sessional English course and take the exam at the end. If you pass the final exam requirement, your conditional offer will become unconditional. I suggest you try retake the IELTS again first.

Hi

I already gave another exam in both of them i got 7.Plus i cant take the pre session classes to because they have already started.That's why i wanted to know what should i do.

which year do you intend to apply? Have you already applied? If you haven't and want to apply for this 08/09 semester, then you have very little time to take action now. But IELTS score 7 is enough for many other schools in the UK. Nevertheless you may want to try to give them a call

Yes i intend to for for this year.I already applied got the conditional offer.I meet the the academic requirement but coludnt meet the IETS one.As you already can see that i got 7 and UCL wants 7.5.So can you pleases tell me if i have any chance of getting into UCL.
