Well, whatever it means, it makes me feel better! The rumor is (from the studera facebook group), that each program for Lund assigns all 999s or all 1s.

At the minimum, it means that the admissions requirments are met.

It is sad to tell everybody that I wasn't accepted at Lund University but at Upsala University. I wish everybody good luck at Lund University.

what was you SG and MR there?
because I think I got addmited to uppsala as well, but unfourtunelly in Lund my MR was 1
well, I believe that sometimes we need to leave thing up to the faith!!!!

SG there was AU while the MR was 999. I talk to the internatioal office today and they told me I was accepted. I guess faith have decided that Lund University is not for me to attend this semester.

My MR was 999 for LUMAS General International Human Rights Law, the only one programme I have applied.

I have no idea. But I think they will send us as soon as they can because of our visa process. However, I think it will come after 8 May.

Hi Seltue

I also got MR 999 at Uppsala but my SG is OS, not sure if that effects anything. Maybe I will see you in Uppsala. I didn't actually apply for Lund, basically because I couldn't afford to do a 2 year Masters. Why did you prefer Lund so much, was it just the particular program? I was under the impression Uppsala was more highly regarded.

I'm also waiting to hear from Stockholm so might end up there. Do you have any idea whether Stockholm is well recognised. I would of thought it would be one of Sweden's most regarded universities but it doesn't make the Times Higher Education Supplement top 200. Which doesn't necessarily mean the particular program isn't really well regarded, just thought it was slightly unusual.

I think you are accepted also. I was aiming at the Human Right program at Lund but applied also to Uppsala just to be safe. How suprising that Stocholm is not among the top 200. Stocholm is among the best university in sweden. However, Uppsala Universities is actually the leading University in Sweden and also in the Nordic region (www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/hybrid.asp?typeCode…). What program did you applied for?

I applied for the International and Comparative Law at Uppsala. At Stockholm I applied for Int. Arbitration Law and European Union Law. I didn't get accepted into Int. Arbitration Law because the course co-ordinator sent out an e-mail to those who were accepted due to delays at Studera. So basically just waiting on EU Law. Then, if I get accepted at Stockholm and Uppsala it will be a really hard decision.

I guess if you are really focused on human rights then the Lund program is more specialised, so would be preferable. But I'm sure that even though the course at Uppsala is more general, it would cover human rights in some detail and you can focus on this area with your thesis.

Each uni has different SG and MR rules.
KTH has 52 highest MR; Halmstd has 1300 highest MR;KI has 15 highest MR;Lund has 999 highest MR;Orebro has 999 highest MR and so on.
SG is also useful to predict something about your MR.
MR=999 with SG=DA means you have been accepted without any doubt.
MR=999 with SG=OS/PG etc means you have been considered as eligible candidate but decision has to be taken.
For example You applied to programme XYZ which has 10 places.
Admission commitee found 15 candidates as eligible and assign them MR=999.
Here the final decision will be based on gender (some uni prefer female) and your previous academic background. If you have excellent academic record then other candidates, you will receive admission letter but in case you don’t have a good academics then you will be asked to wait for 2nd round of admission and if any place is not accepted by admitted candidate then you will be offered that vacant seat.
Many people who got MR=999 but SG=DA have received admission letters from universities( allthough officially admissions will be announced on 8th) but SG=DA is a something very special case and DA stand for Direct Admission.
If you got OS at Uppsala then you will have to wait till 8th as I can’t say anything about this selection groups just I can translate OS as “Eligible without merit based evaluation”
You should conclude from above facts about your selection group. Perform pray regularly and do pray for all of us too.

It was Stockholm where I applied for Int. Arbitration, my MR was 9 000. My MR for EU Law was 9 999 which is the same as the person who got admitted to Int. Arbitration. It seems to be similar to Lund where there are only two rankings.

Dr Ahmed's comments make me a little nervous. I've been telling myself that getting MR 999 (in Uppsala) might not necessarily mean I am accepted, that there might still be more culling or that it might mean "accepted or on the waiting-list". Now that it has gone from a possibility to a probability, my level of anxiety has gone up again. I just want this waiting to be over.

Doc, At Uppsala University does MR= 999 and SG= AU mean you accepted or? It seem you know alot about this and I was wondering if 999 also apply to Uppsala and also what about Malmo University?
