LLM in UK or USA.
LSEorCornell?
Employment,Future,Brand &Career.
No scholarsip in both.

I'll go to LSE in the fall.
In my opinion, I would say to go to Cornell.

Why ? You'll be more interesting for US law firms in Europe, you'll be admitted to the NY Bar and you could even work for a while in US. I have an erstwhile colleague that did an LLM at Cornell, passed the NY Bar and now works for a well-known law firm in Paris. In addition, an US LLM is also highly regarded by UK law firms.
If you go to LSE, consider that the UK legal market has, in general, no opportunities for LLM students because the people that followed conversion law courses are preferred.
Last but not least, the US LLM is more bussines oriented while at LSE you follow only 4 modules.
I went to LSE because I had not enough money to go to the US and I also failed to apply on time.
But LSE is not a bad choice either, it's well-known in Europe.

The only problem - An LLM at Cornell will cost you like 50 000 $, LSE - 22-25 000 Euro ( 30 000 $ or more) - depends on your lifestyle.

I imagine London is a lot more expensive than Ithaca. Ithaca is beautiful, btw, but very cold in winter.

I think comes down to where you would like to practice but I imagine with a US degree you are more likely to be able to practice in both jurisdictions depending on where you are from originally.

Thanks for such an excellent input.The cost of llm inboth places seems to be same in my currency.If somebody from cornell or knowing cornell can inform-
1.Can I stay in usa after llm?
2.What are job opporutinities?
3.What is per hour wages ,when i am allowed to work during llm?

I might be little bit prejudiced, but LSE is more popular in Aisa, if ever you decide to practice in Asia. But I hear that US LLMs are more preferred in Americas. And taking into account the cost factor, LSE LLM is lot cheaper than Cornell LLM.

I understand that Cornell is costlier by $ 10000.Isn't llm in Usa and that too in Ivy leage law is worthwhile.

If I had to rate the top ten law Schools in the world, the order would be:
1. Harvard
2. Yale
3. Cambridge
4. Stanford
5. Columbia
6. Oxford
7. UPenn
8. LSE
9 NYU
10. Chicago

But then it is me who is rating...lol and ne ways LSE is more popular compared to Cornell. That is a fact. If you had got into any of the universities like, Harv, Yale, Columbia, Stanford or NYU, Choose it over LSE but i suggest you to reconsider your decision ( At the risk of sounding like a recruiter for LSE!!!)

Well. I dont know about the scope of employment after graduating from Cornell, but i do know about seven acquantainces of mine who have graduated from LSE who are working in london law firms-big ones like freshfields, Clifford Chance and Linklaters. I am sure london has more scope than Ithaca. (btw i still cant figure it out why i want you to join LSE, but my arguments seems to get more forceful everyday!!! I swear I dont have anything against Cornell). but ultimately it is your call pal! whatever decision you take be comfortable with it. Dont let anyone push you into making a choice. My views are entirely personal.
