Hi Mel,Sat May 05, 2007 04:38 PM No idea. Maybe you could ask MJ (Meijung) who was admitted last year but whose admission was deferred to this year... See in earlier post in this thread. good luck if you choose to defer... With respect to housing, I don't think it's too late! but if I were you, I would start as soon as possible because housing seems to be quite limited at UC Berkeley. Best regards, R. |

No. As a matter of fact, I just submitted my request with SISS and posted supporting documents by DHL yesterday. Tue Jun 05, 2007 02:34 AM I won't be surprised that it takes ages for them to process. |

Well, I sent them the cover page and related documents on may 22...When I sent them an email asking for confirmation of receipt, they just said "don t contact us again for this, this will only slow the process". So far, I have no confirmation that they received this papers. (also used DHL)

Hi All,Wed Jun 06, 2007 02:15 AM I was granted a Fulbright scholarship. In this framework I will need a J-1 visa and not a F-1 visa. I do not need therefore the I-20. I should inform the SISS thereof. Any other people in the same situation? Best regards, R. |

Roger, answer your question on number of our class. I got a mail from llmadmis confirming that the number is about 100. So it's a big class, while still smaller than Harvard or Columbia.Wed Jun 13, 2007 03:46 PM Are you on the waiting list for west or east village flat/townhouse in Albany? Yuan, Jianan |

Thanks for this useful answer and nice to meet you Yuan.Wed Jun 13, 2007 09:48 PM I note that the class is larger than last years...I met last week 3 Belgian people who will join Boalt in August. There will be therefore at least 4 Belgians (3 French-speaking and 1 Dutch-speaking) at Berkeley this year... I am on waiting list for student family housing (in East village and Smyth Fernwald Complex). I have not heard anything from them yet. |

I-20s
Hi all.Wed Jun 20, 2007 04:38 PM I have received the I-20, and tomorrow is the interview here at the US Embassy. No news about financial aid application. About this, I think they are not serious anymore. It canīt be this way. Nobody (at least not me) can manage to work on other resources one month before classes. Of course, that is my opinion. |

I-20s
Hi Matias,Thu Jun 21, 2007 03:01 AM Thanks. I'm from Beijing, China. Have not received I-20s, nor notice on posting out. SISS confirmed its receipt of my NIF cover letter on May 30. Have they notified you when they mailed out I-20s? Where are you? Good luck for getting visa and see you in Cal. Yuan |

hello thereFri Jun 29, 2007 10:00 PM it turns out that almost the 30 admits gathered here in this blog! well Congrats to all of us. and we all are from different countries. Cool!! I want to take international financiial law and human rights. But i guess we need to check whether we can take classes we want.. In regard to the housing. it's pretty though. i am cheching their housing website. You need to pay $25 in order to access it , but trust me it's worth it. I got a financial award letter yesterday. I guess there is no finanical aid for the international students, huh? I will be glad to make friends even before getting to the school If not then will you all of you at Boalt on August 10. Good Luck to all of us! |

Hello to everyone starting Boalt in August! Tue Jul 10, 2007 06:33 PM My name's Martyn, I'm a 22 year old student from England, just fresh from graduation last week! Slightly worried I might be the baby of the LLM group - is it rude to ask for everyone else's age? As for visas and housing, etc, the I-20 is apparently on its way to me now, I have been refused financial aid, and as yet have no housing. Can't decide whether I'd rather live somewhere like the international house (does anyone know if they have space left anyway?) or find a nice apartment somewhere. I think my plan at the moment is to stay in a hostel somewhere for a week or two while I find a nice place. Thoughts? As regards the law, well I'm just going to pick the courses which seem the most interesting - I love constitutional & administrative law and human rightsy stuff so will probably go in that sort of direction. Well, nice to 'meet' some of you on here - look forward to sharing a drink with you all in August! Best, Martyn |

Hi Martyn, My name is Astine. I am 27 (I guess not too old huh?) and working in the Administartive Law Unit in CA. We are dealing with human rights and etc. If you have any questions, let me know about US Pubic Interest /Admin law. Tue Jul 10, 2007 07:32 PM I am trying to find a place to rent. There is no spot in campus :) Why the I-20 is so late? Will you have time to come for the picnic? |
