LL.M. Tax Salaries
After I graduated from law school in 2003, I clerked for a state judge then a federal judge in NJ. I am now working as a civil defense attorney, but am planning on returning to school full-time at Villanova's LLM in tax program. IF you do very well at a program like Villanova, what is a typical starting salary for a large law or accounting firm? WOuld I be 1st year or could I get a higher salary with my LL.M. degree and past work history. Any info would be greatly appreciated! THanks

MInt,Sun Apr 22, 2007 12:17 PM The package seems pretty good in law firms. I'm an Int'l student enrolling in the tax program at NYU this fall. Any idea what my chances are to join a law firm? |

In my opinion, chance always go for those who have JD first, then to those who have only LLM in Tax. However, if you do pretty good, i.e., good grade, you have a chance too. Anyway, it is much easier for Int'l with LLM tax to get job in accounting firm.

NYU is the best Tax LL.M. If you don't have the credentials to get into NYU then you may not have the credentials to get a BIGLAW job. Those jobs are very competitive.
