Thxs for your answer anka :). I am glad to read that we wont have to pass any toefl,... ^^
I have already applied for accomodation but I dont really remenber which halls... All i know is that it was in the miles end campus. anyway i guess most of us will have accomodation there since there is not so many postgrad halls. Lets keep in touch about that.

Hi Amaury,

I applied for the LL.M. in commercial and corporate law. Recently, I have accepted the offer and now concentrating on the accommodation issue...

Just from a curiosity - did you clarify the 'no Eng language' apart of me?

Has anybody heard on accomodation from Queen Mary? I received a mail from them 2 days back regarding Cumberland lodge trip booking. The orientation starts on the 24th Sept. but when are we supposed to be arriving in London?

I also had the email about the trip but no news about the accomodation (however if I remember well we will heard about it at the end of the month).
I will probably arrive on the 23. But as I am from France I think it is easier for me than for people from India..

anka --> They told me I had nothing else to do now, just to wait for a letter; so I guess we both don't need to do anything more.

c u

Hi all,

I will join you all in the Queen Mary LL.M. program for 2007/8 and look forward to meeting each of you. My point of origin is the U.S.

Regarding accommodation, I'll be living at Goodenough College, an unaffiliated international student dormitory. I chose Goodenough for two reasons: first, I've heard great things from past students who lived there, and second, the closest tube stop is Holborn Station, which is practically next door to the law school's new location at Lincoln's Inn Fields.

I encourge anyone still searching for housing to inquire with Goodenough College.

I enquired about the accomodation from QM and have received a mail saying that offers have already been made and I am in the waiting list. I dont know what are the chances. So i would have to look for alternate accomodation. Any body moving in private accomodation ?

Unazoi - Dont you think goodenough is expensive and they do not have twin sharing accomodation.

Rishi,

Your concern about the cost of Goodenough College is well founded. I had an internal debate over applying there due to the cost, but what tipped the scales in favor is location.

Most LL.M. classes will be held in the new Lincoln's Inn Fields location, which is on the same tube stop as Goodenough. So, living at Goodenough should save commuting time AND money because it will be possible to walk to classes.

Just my two pence worth of advice. I hope QM soon moves you from the waiting list to the accommodation list.

I agree with you on that and I am thinking on the same lines. I have a lot of questions for you which will help me decide on accomodation. Have you found out exactly what is the distance between QM Lincoln's inn campus and the goodenough college? What will be the cost of the tube (to and fro) if I stay in Lillian Pensen Hall - please let me know if you found out? Is there pictures or virtual tour of the rooms at goodenough? What is the min. contract period with the goodenough college? And exactly how much will the twin sharing room cost?

Rishi,

All of your questions can be answered by looking over this Web site: www.goodenough.ac.uk

For questions about the tube and distances around the City of London, you should check out the London Underground Web site at www.thetube.com

Also, Goodenough College's staff members should be able to answer any specific questions you might have.

I am happy to share information about my personal experience applying if you desire.

Whatever you do and wherever you choose to live, don't delay further! Good luck!

Hi folks!
I'm form South Korea. I've got a conditional offer from QM.
And I accepted. They, however, sent me a mail that I am requested to submit my Toefl score copy. But I've already done that when applying at first!
Is it possible that it would be an just administrative mistake?

Anyway I am pleased to give you guys opportunities to see a humble and taciturn odd ball...

Hi everyone,

I just accepted my offer. I applied for an LLM in Intellectual Property Law. Is anyone taking that ?
I think I'll try to find a flat on my own... If you're looking as well, my advise is to look on www.gumtree.com and to avoid agencies.

What do you think about the University in itself ? I heard that it's one of the best campuses in London. I'm glad they are organising the little trip to Cumberland lodge, it should be fun!

See you all in september !

Hi Virginia (and everyone else, of course!),

I also plan to do the I.P. LLM. I got a conditional offer based on my proficiency in English, so whether I will go to QM or not now all depends on how I scored on the TOEFL. I did the test about a week ago and the topics of the reading and listening sections were mainly from biology and geology. I wouldn`t say I didn`t understand a word but it seems to me that I had to take a guess a few times to often. Anyway, I hope I got those 100 points and we`ll all meet in September!

Hello everybody,

I'm from Thailand. I'll join you all at QM this September. My specialisation will be IP as scholarship I got require.

I've accepted a place at Commonwealth Hall. Is there anybody here going to live there like me? It's an predominantly undergraduate hall but it's quite convenient- near to the CCLS and many libraries.

I'll reach London on 10 September. See you all there!

Hello everyone,

just a quick question : when is the enrolment? Do we have to go to QM on the 19th or the 24th? It seems to me that it is the 24th, but I'm not quite sure and I need to book my ticket to London.

Thx and see u soon !

Hey, to the person who lived in goodenough college... could u tell me a bit more about it. I've asked, but wont be able to view inside the bedrooms before moving in, are they modern/big/clean etc? Also, is there any problem with having people stay over occassionally or are they quite strict in general? Any info appreciated

Cheers
