Queen mary would be much better because of its linkages to the corporate / legal world as it is located in london. Also london offers a lot of opportunity after you complete your LLM (infact also during the LLM),

I am yet to apply for LLM in Queen Mary - its late but i still hope to get admission this year.

I'm still waiting for an offer from QMUL to do LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law. Hope to go there if offered a place.

Hey edward, the ccls website says the Postgradutate Law Centre at Lincoln's Inn Field is the new base for LLM teaching and research. Does it mean that most lectures and activities will be carried out at the new centre? Wonder whether students should stay closer to Lincoln's Inn Field than Mile End?

Hey Lucyliu, Best of luck with your application. Hope to see you in September.

The CCLS webpage does say that Lincoln's Inn Fields will be the new home for the CCLS and a base for the LLM programme.
The information on the page also states that the nearest tube to Lincoln's Inn Field (Holborn) is a 12 minute journey from the Mile End tube station. If this is indeed so its doesnt appear to be a major inconvenience if one is staying at Mile End except, of course, the cost of taking the tube to and from classes.

Warm Regards
Edward

Thanks Brights34! I am just considering if it is not better to take intercollegiate hall situated close to Lincoln field as it would take me 5 min on foot to get there and also for London night life it seems to be a good option. On the other hand on Mile End I would suppose great social environment and amazing student night life.. What hall did you choose and when are you going to London?

I applied for Lynden House, Westfield Student Village.

It might in fact be better to live in Intercollegiate Halls. I would rather not simply because my budget does not allow me to live there as they are usually a bit more expensive than QM lodgings.
It would be useful if we could get some insight from current QM students as to the various halls and options and the pros and cons of each so far I am making most of my decisions based on costs.

I see Brights. It is quite difficult to make decision as on the other hand I suppose that most of QMU LLM guys will be staying at Mile End anyway and so there will be the best social live and nice group of people. What is more intercollegiate halls seem to be determined predominately for undergraduates. So both options have dis/advantages….. Let us keep in touch and all the best!

Hi folks!!! Congratulations:)
Please, help me!! I'm confused - in my offer there is nothing about obtaining a certain result in Toefl/Ielts - just mentioned "no English language" - so does it mean that I don't have to pass neither toefl nor ielts?? I wrote to QM but there is a busy period and I guess answering will last a little bit. Please, tell me if someone received a conditional offer based on obtaining a certain score in toefl/ielts... What did that offer say??
Cheers! Hope for a quick answer...
Anxious anna :(

Hello everyone, I've been accepted to QM, too. But I will concentrate in Finance and Banking law. What about the accommudation at the university, does anyone of you receive any confirmation for room that you applied for? I've learn that Housing office will confirm the room in the mid of July.
Thanks for your help and see you in London.

Hi Banker, I'm from Bangkok, Thailand. As for the name of the Hall, I can't remember the name, since I'm not close to information now, I will find it later. And where are you from? Actually, I have been working in the Banking industry for many years. Are you still working in the Bank?

Hi everybody, I got a conditional offer from QM. The condition was for me to have a specific mark for my French Maitrise. I got this mark and so I sent the official transcript to the admission office. However I received no news from them. Do you know if they will send me an email or a letter to confirm my admission? (I've already phoned them and they told me that they received the transcript and that they will contact me later; ..it was 6 days ago)

For anka (anna); It was also written "no English language requirement" in my offer and when I accepted the offer they didn't ask me for IELTS or TOEFL. So I guess it means you don't have to pass anything. However I am not sure so if I have more informations I will post a message about it (please do the same ;-)).
I hope I will be able to meet all of you next year.
Thxs for your answers.
Amaury

Hi Amaury,

Thanx for the response :)

I called QM a few days ago and they told me that 'no English language' means that I don't have to pass any English test :) So, there is one doubt less...
As to the "confirmation procedure' - I do not know how does it look like (I'm in the same position as you - also needed to send them an additional document) but I think that the most vital info is that they have received the missing doc. :)

Hi medusa!

I'm considering residence halls, but honestly - still hesitating... Maybe, you could tell me if there is a possibility to pay the residence fees per week (not in advance for a longer period)?

I hope that we all meet in Sept :)

Cheers,
anna
