Is anyone going to Vanderbilt this year? Any thoughts from current or former LL.M.s on Vanderbilt especially the Law and Business programme and participation in the NY Job Fair would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I am a current LLM student and work as a research assistant to Prof. Randall Thomas who directs the LLM program and the Law & Business Program. I am taking his course Securities Regulation which is excellent and all LL.M. students love it. LLM students may continue their studies for a second year to earn a certificate in law and business. Students may also choose law and business related courses during their LLM year. Vanderbilt's law and business curriculum offers many interesting courses, and the program is highly regarded in the US.

Vanderbilt's LLM students participate in the NYU job fair and Vanderbilt students are sought after by employers and granted interviews. Many LLM students also I will take the NY Bar exam, and the BARBRI prep course is taught here at Vanderbilt in the summer.

I submitted my application package early April but the result is still unavailable. They just delay and delay... Don't know why it takes them so much of time to review...

Probably the fact that you sent it in April. Most people apply December/January. I'm surprised their deadline hadn't passed by April. Give them a call. They're quite helpful over phone. Might be able to tell you the status.

I think the way they do is not professional, partly because the huge amount of applications. But in any circumstance I think people are deserved proper answers from them either possitive or negative. It's among the purposes of the application fees.

I can only say the Vanderbilt admission staff is very efficient & friendly. Quick decision, prompt answers on emails (even during the weekend), etc.

Vanderbilt was the most professional (the best organized and the most capable and friendly personnel always ready to answer questions in no time) of all universities I have applied for. However, I must admit that I had not any problem with no other university neither.
