Hey everyone!
I've been applying for European buisiness law at Lund university and been accepted. Just now I am waiting the answer from the Swedish Institute if they will give me a scholarship..Are there anyone who have been admitted? And have you already made your preregistration? And on the whole maybe you know something about the chances of getting the scholarship from Swedish Institute??

Wish you all the best!

Ani, if we are in September in 2007, we will be able to tell you a lot about your chances:))

Anyway, Maktub it is really very strange that mostly people on this chat is from Human rights..Ok, I can find an explanation:people who had been accepted to European business law prabably are to much busy and involved in business to find a free minute to chat:))And people from Maritame law...I don't know:)))
Anyway, when I have been in Lund, I heard that European business law is very popular..Sorry, but I didn't hear any about Maritame law...So did you get some news from them so far??

Asta, I do have a question as I just red you were an ERASMUS student. Thus, you know the university very well. Do you know if there are any languague courses on can attend in French or Spanish. Unfortunately I just found the link to the " Folkuniversitetet" but it is very expensive. SO, I would be happy to hear from you.
Thanks,
Nadine

Hello Nadine,

Sorry for so late reply, but I didn't get the message to my email about the new post therefore I am writing so late.

Maktub, how are you?Did you get some news? You see I am not alone here anymore:)Hope you will get soon some GOOD news as well and will meet somebody from Maritame law!
Nadine, are you from Ukraine?I just looked through the admited students' list and the most likely you showed up for me from Unkraine (from your nickname:)
About these language courses actually I couldn't say very much. As far as I remember it was some for free, but among the students, for example, ou know french and other student know swedish, so you are meeting are teaching each other:)But I think you get some more info when you be in Lund.
If you have some questions, you are welcome to ask.

Besides, have you been nominated for the scholarship from SI or not? Then I was applying for the programme I marked that I want to apply for Visby programme, and they nominated me for SI, but still I am waiting for the answer..It is annoying because there isn't a concrete date then the results will be and therefore I don't know how long I need to wait for...Because without the scholarship I don't know how to finance my studies..If you know something more about the scholarships, please write me..

Best regards,
Asta..going to drink beer:)

Asta,

I called the university and they told me they would have the answers (admissions) regarding the maritime law programme this week (May 14-18), but so far I haven't received anything. Besides, there is nothing about it in their website.

I think I'll call them again next week... suggestions? It's terrible not knowing the outcome of my application...

Cheers.

Maktub

PS: Anyone out there applied for the LLM in Maritime Law at Lund?

Hy Nadine,

Well strange, because I got the letter of acceptence from juridicum which lists the admited students to European business law (law section). There is not one mentioned from Germany...Mean while there are 11 students admited to this programme. Did you get the letter of acceptence?I don't understand this situation if you are in how you can't be on the list..

Oh, don't make me nervous. Until now I have just received the admission through an e-mail. I am waiting for the "real" letter of acceptance. That is strange. I'll write an email because I really wanna have that place and I even have neglected other ones.
Oh la la ......

I got the admission on the 4th May and of course I accepted immediately. So, now I am really waiting for this letter and to be really sure I wrote again to Maria Eierborg. I'm feeling like being in a bad movie with the whole admission process that brings ups and downs and one has to be really patient (not my biggest talent :-) So thanks for your answers and will let you know.
Bye!

Hello,

Yes, I am also coming. It was my mistake - I got the admission for the business section.
Are there differences of the application procedures? Cause I sent alreadu a certified copy of my diploma with all the other application items. So, for me its done. But do NOT send the original. One should always keep it. And you are lucky with the scholarship!

Bye

Hi everyone!!

Cigdem, sorry for the late respond, just I was really enjoying summer:))

I am coming to Lund on 20th of August. And the last time I was in Lund, the IHO provided for me the Swedish corridor, only I and other guy have been international students among Swedish ones. I was living in Vildanden, it is very good placve to live. I had my private bathroom, we had a nice kithcen, and on the whole it was only 20 min by walk til juridicum, just 3 min till food store, and 15min till NOVA LUND, shopping moll(cloths, shoes, etc.), so on the whole till the centre of lund it was about 20min by walk, so I actually didn't need a bike. Off course I bought very crappy one, which later on it was stolen:))That was really siurprising for me!!What else,aa..I really think that it is much more better to live in Swedish corridir, it is much more better to intergrate and if you need help it is more useful. Actually, I would like that IHO would provide for me again a room in Vildanden.

Besides,

Cigdem, as you also getting the scholarship, you didn't pay advance payment for housing probably. But actually did you understand that situation how we will have to pay on arrival day???
Besides, when you are coming to Lund?We could party on arrival occasion:)))

Best wishes to everyone!!
