Hi guys!Tue Jun 12, 2007 09:15 AM I am also going to Durham. I am from Germany (Berlin). Gonna stay in Ustinov College. I am really looking forward to having an exciting year in Durham! PS: I also speak Spanish. ;) I have heard that in the last years more than 50% of the students in the LLM programme came from China... Can anybody confirm that? to those applying, just be sure to indicate which college you want to join. i f u want to be with post-grads only, u should apply to ustinov college. otherwise, u can opt for other colleges where there are undergrad students.Mon Feb 04, 2008 02:56 AM ustinov and josephine butler colleges are pretty much international. i have 3 british flatmates though and have lots of international mates. i live in josephine butler college! go go go"!!! |

Hi petitjaune (that’s French isn’t it)Wed Feb 20, 2008 10:52 AM I have an unconditional offer to study for LLM international trade and commercial law at Durham, so I would be thankful if you would give me some details about the university and its law school, can you tell how much does it coast to live there for a postgraduate student (including accommodation)? , I do have other offers from Nottingham, Manchester so what do you think |

Hi Fai, Wed Feb 20, 2008 02:18 PM Durham has quite a small law department, but there is a big international presence for Masters students. The law library in durham is one of the best I have come across. Durham is completely different from Manchester and Nottingham. It is a much smaller city, and not a campus based university as in Nottingham. However it has a very good reputation nationally, and probably the better law department of the other two you have been accepted into. There is a very high quality of teaching at the university, through lectures and tutorials. If you live in a catered college, accomodation costs will be around 1200 pounds a term, however this is reduced radically if you choose not to be catered. The average rent for a room in Durham outside of a college is 50 to 70 pounds a week. Hope this is helpful. |

Hi everyone!Thu Mar 27, 2008 02:57 AM I have been offered a place to read for the International trade and commercial law in Durham but I haven't received the official letter now. Meanwhile,I have also been accepted by the Edinburgh University. So I'm confused...I prefer Durham but not made my final decision yet... I'm a girl from China:> [Edited 27 Mar 2008 by Helen-hp] |
