I am going to graduate from my United States JD program in another year and am wondering if anyone knows what it will take for me to get into the BCL program at Oxford. I was interested in knowing what class rank (i am currently in the top 15%) would be required and when I should apply to have the best chance.
I would appreciate it if anyone could offer some advice.
Thanks

I was accepted to the BCL and like you I was asking the same questions. However, as Oxford themselves say, the admissions process is merits based. Oxford want to see academic potential. So apply, after all what do you have to lose (since applying is free)?

Yes, I think the qualifications of admitted and non-admitted candidates are all probably on the level with each other. It's a tough program, and before I applied, I was told that the Faculty ranks very heavily the references you submit, since most applicants are going to have outstanding academic credentials. Thus, I emphasized the importance of the references to my referees, and it worked out for me.

I think it is helpful to analyse the credentials of previously successful candidates from your own institution. At least in the case of my college, all 6 persons who have read for the BCL had a percentage of 70% or more. I have a feeling the Law Faculty evolves academic benchmarks for foreign universities/colleges over time.
