Srk,

What do you think your choice would be if you had a Hauser Scholarship in NYU with all expenses paid including tuition and housing. That's what gcvс's choice is all about and he is no doubt right about it. My friend made absolutely the same choice 5 years ago and never has she regretted it since.

I agree with gcvc.. I have NYU and Columbia too but no full scholarship so I am waiting to see which of the schools out of all I have been admitted to gives me money..

If I had the Hauser, I would never think twice.... whichever school you choose among the top five you can never go wrong.

Srk,

I also received the US$10,000 scholarship from NYU. I think that it is called the Dean's Graduate Award. The cool thing is that such an award also provides you with an opportunity to join the Research Associate Program (the "RAP"). If you join the RAP you are matched with one of the NYU professors and help him in the research work (that is a great experience). All of this sounds really fascinating. If I were you I would choose to go to NYU if CLS did not give me any financial aid.

i just wish columbia would let me know if they're giving me any aid or not. I mailed them so many times and they keep saying we'll let you know soon and thank you for being patient...who says i'm patient........also for the RAP, they require you to give them names of three professors who you would like to assis in research.....i have no idea who to name because i live across the globe..dont know anyone who went there either...

Srk,

You still have a lot of time - till May 6. I am sure that you will get an answer from Columbia before that date. With respect to RAP you should first of all decide which area interests you and than try to choose a professor in this area. There are some people on the board that are great specialists and know names of most good professors in different universities. Try to discuss this with Bitsou, for example. However, I think that it is also important to remember that you will get the NYU award even if you do not join the RAP. So just take your time to do some research on the issue and make a decision.

"
Please be assured that you have responded in time to receive the Dean's Graduate Award, provided that you submit your $500 deposit and your Intention to Enroll
statement, in which you will certify that you have withdrawn any outstanding applications and declined all offers of admission from other law schools. The deadline for submission is Monday, April 11, by 5:00 p.m. Eastern standard time. After that date, you may lose your eligibility for the award."

Srk,

That's strange. I did not find any deadline in my letter of admission. Maybe it is because not so many Russians were admitted and the main goal of NYU is to distribute the scholarships between different regions in accordance with their ratios.

She told me I had to reply till the 4th of April! So,I guess yours is a better status than mine. And I almost missed the deadline,if it hadn't been for the other greek student, a friend of mine, also admitted in NYU,who called me and saved me(he reminded me the deadline was getting close)!I owe him one!
