Hey ED, as you know I didn't go to St Johns but my friend did last year. He loved it. He said the people are very nice and friendly, his accommodation was great (albeit expensive), it is pretty (right on the river), and it has the best May Ball. It is one of the wealthier colleges too so you will be well looked after. Oh, and its sister college at Oxford is Balliol so it must be good : ) : )

thanks figgie. I actually just recieved word that cambridge has offered to let me defer my LLM. I had some unexpected family problems that led me to put in the request. So, I won't actually be attending until October of 08.
I am dissapointed to have to wait, but I wasn't in a position to go this year in light of said issues and this will give me another year to practice law and earn some money...

Hey there,
Im an LLM about to leave Cambridge. Hope you all have mostly everything to arrive in October. I have a bunch of notes, books, bicycle and gear that wont fit in my suitcase back to Mexico, so if any of you are interested it is a good oportunity to get some cheap stuff before coming here. Do let me know and I can send more info.
Cheers,
Montse

This may not be the most appropriate thread to ask this question, but I was wondering if people could tell me how they are getting on with their camsis updates.

I know they currently have a two week backlog, but I have been waiting longer than this and still have had no update - this obviously is causing some concern since deadlines are fast approaching for meeting conditions. If anyone could give me some info, it would be appreciated. Cheers.

This question is to those who have sent already to Board of Graduate Studies the package of documents regarding the fulfilment of conditions. Please let us know after how long time your status in Camsis changed? And, how soon did you receive the final Acceptance letter? I delivered my package 2 days ago, and no update on Camsis yet. Another concern: the cover letter said that a photo must be attached if the package is sent for the first time. I understood it so that my package is actually not sent for the first time (the first was upon applying), so I didn't attach a photo. How did you understand this photo issue? I just hope that they won't refuse to process the documents without another photo...

As the BGS have stated there is a two week backlog in recording information for meeting conditions. When I posted the above comment this period had just lapsed and (of course ... ) the next time I checked Camsis it had been updated! So don't worry.

With regards to photos, I only included these with the cover sheets I sent back In Feb/March after receiving my conditional offer. Since then I have had documentation recorded and processed without any difficulty.

I know the waiting is quite frustrating but, again, I think you have nothing to worry about!

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a student visa? I am an American. I am waiting for the official acceptance form to start the visa process. If I don't get the form before August will I get a visa in time to attend Cambridge in Sept?

Thanks
