Does anyone know of a situation where someone did the University of London External LLB and:

1. Was successfully admitted to ABA accredited LLM program?

2. Was eligible to sit for a bar exam upon graduation any other state other than NY,CA or NC.

Question 2 has nothing to do with the LLB or the U of London. Each US state sets its own requirements for taking the bar exam, and most of them do not let people with an LLM degree (no matter what school they got it from) take the bar exam. So your question should be, "(1) what states allow people with LLM degrees but no JD degree to take the bar exam? And, (2) what states allow people with LLM's from non-ABA accredited law schools, and/or foreign law schools, to take the bar exam?"

If you go through the list here (jurist.law.pitt.edu/barexam.htm) state by state, you may find the answer to your question.

NC does not allow non-JDers to take their bar exam. You must be looking at old info.

New York and 10 more States in USA allow foreign qualified lawyers with 20 credit hours study of law in ABA approved law school to sit in their Bar Exam. Therefore, a foreign lawyer, holding LL.B degree from outside of USA, may sit in the Bar Exam after obtaining LL.M degree from ABA approved law school.
