BRUNEL VS LONDON METROPOLITAN VS BOURNEMOUTH- help me decide!
Hello! I am so confused so please help me with my decision.Fri Jun 29, 2007 11:02 AM i would like to start my llm this winter, since I am to late for setember ( I will graduate in sept.). but there are not many universities which have start date in winter- only London Met, Bournemouth...The other option is that I wait another year and start in next september 2008, so I can apply to Brunel Univ, which is my favorite university. I do not have exellent grades- 2.2 honours, so I cannot dream getting to better univ. I thinhk Brunel has a 2.2 entry requrements, but I have to wait another year! what should I do???? Should I go to London Met or Bournemouth instead? Thank you! |

Ultimately this is going to be down to how strongly you feel about a delay versus getting into a university you want to attend. My own view is that 6 months is not long and that if you go somewhere you perceive as your second choice, you will spend a whole lot longer regretting it. Additionally, you can choose to use your gap year positively, whether travelling for pleasure, doing voluntary work or working to build up your bank balance and possibly to make your c.v look better. You might also enjoy your studies more if the LLM is not following straight on from your LLB.

Sun Jul 01, 2007 07:20 AM I think that is all good advice, but particularly the advice to build your C.V. If you know exactly what area you would like to specialise in during your LL.M., you might use the "year off" to get some interesting experience in that area before applying. If you don't have an area you would like to specialise in, at least you will have something interesting to add to the personal statement part of your applications. P. Martini |
