Hello,

How are you all? I am planning to apply for 2008/2009 at the Stockholm Uni, but I haven't decided yet which Master's.

I will graduate next year, but I will apply before graduation. I am from Bosnia so I will have to do TOEFL iBT. Is there anyone of you did this test? Where are you from?

hi, i remember doing the Toefl iBT last... hmmm.. october? i believe... the only thing what was the problem for me was time... so little time, so much to do... so my advice- try to be quick, don't thik, just do, and go for the next question. One other tip- practice. There's nor much to learn, but practice makes a lot, so keep sitting at your computer doing all kinds of exercizes form that book, can't remember what's the name of it- you know, the big blue-green-white one...:))) for me the easiest was listening, i almost got asleep:), and the hardest- reading, because of the above-mentioned time..

So good luck, keep going for it!!

Hello Masterstudent,

Thanks a lot for this :-) So, I need to buy that book and learn a lot :-) I will do it at the end of this year. I need to go to Belgrade to buy it and that's it. I will do it there my test. I have bunch of other books for the FCE, the CAE...I learn a lot from there, and there is a huuuuugeeee nuber of exercises. I usually go to visit the BBC Learning English Boards. I have met there a wonderful people.

Where do you do Master's? What have you chosen to do?

well, my advice to u guyz is to give IELTS as it is much easier and u just need to get 6 band. Why dont u guyz also apply at Uppasla university. Their programme in International and Comparative law is good. Atleast thts wht I heard. I guess I will know better when my classes start in Jan. Good luck to u guyz
PS: Apply in Master in Intellecutal and Property law at STockholm university as the last date for application is Sep this year.

Hello Lunianil,

Thanks for this. I don't know what to do. One of my friends is doing at Leiden Master's in Holland. She says that it is easier to pass TOEFL. You say IELTS....Ouhhhh, What to do?

I will apply there, too. I have chosen a few Universities. I will see later who will accept me :-)))

Hi Lunianil,

Why do you say like this? You said that IELTS is easier. Never mind. I only know that she passed TOEFL and it seems that you passed IELTS so it is normal to say that it is easier that test you have passed.

Anyway, I wish you all the best in your future studying. Thanks for help.

Academic. General is for Immigration purposes. My advice to u is to apply in Sweden or Norway for obvious reason i.e. free education.

Okay! Thanks a lot. Yes, one of my reasons why I apply there is free education. I will at the same time apply for a scholarship, I have good marks so maybe I get one.

Where are you from? Have you got a scholarship?

Good marks alone is not criteria for selection. Factors like ur work experience, ur statement of intent and letter of recommendations also matter. Dont forget there are very limited seats therefore the competition is very tough.

I know for all that. Well, I am a student so no time for working at all. I am planning to continue my studies as soon as I graduate, that's why I must apply there earlier. My studies of law lasts 4 year and I have 32 subjects.

I have a good recommendations so this is not a problem. I have already made a good personal statment. I here had help from my teacher who is from England.

You didn't say. Did you get one?

hi again,

so, i got 103 from toefl ibt. Currently I was admitted to the Leiden univ, The Netherlands, EU law, LLM. By the way, I'm from Lithuania:)
As far as I heard, Toefl is easier, but i don't know for sure, I haven't tried ielts...
One other notice abt Toefl- when you do the writting part, or, any other part, where you need to write the response, the program would't change to capital letters automatically (let's say i to I:))) so practice to do that:)

Hello Masterstudent,

How are you? Waaaw, you got a really good score. Congratulations on that. I am so scared like someone will kill me :-))) hope I will achieve at least 90.

Where have you chosen to do Master's? Leiden is so great but too expensive for my pocket. The tution fee for me is form 10 000 to 15 000 euros....what's too much it is too much...hey I play lottely form time to time, maybe I get something ;) and then I will go to Leiden :-))))

I will apply where is free education and that is in Sweden and Norway. There is a good programme in Hungary, too...maybe I apply there, but I prefere the Scandinavian countries :-)))

Okay, thaks for good pieces of advice for TOEFL iBt. I will later chose which one I will do. Wheter TOEFL iBT or IELTS. Like everybody I only care for good results ;)

Hear you later,
Sanja

hey Sanja, that's ok, don't worry, you'll be fine. I remember when I was waiting for the result- I was soooooo scared... I had no idea what to expect:) I remeber taht I was hoping to get less from reading and more from writting:) I don't really remember now what exactly was the score for these parts separately:)
Yaeh. abt Leiden, you're so right, i would be too expensive for me too:) But i've got the home fee, cause i'm from EU:))) it's only 1500euro:)
I hope you'll be fine, cause I respect people who are willing to reach more, than what is the easiest to reach:)
You'll be good, i beliave:)
btw, maybe there's a chance, that you could get something like the reduced tuition fee? You may wanna write to Leiden or other university to ask, thats just an offer.

See ya
