HI

I need urgent advice from anyone who has done LL.B from India(esp Mumbai University). My cousin is about to enter IIIrd year LL.B in Mumbai and has to take 2 subjects from the following choice of electives:

a) Banking & Negotiable Instruments Act
b) Law of Insurance
c) Intellectual Property Law
d) Conflict of Laws
e) Law Relating to Women and Children
f) Law and Medicine

Please advice which 2 subjects amongst the one listed above would be easy to pass(and in which you can score good marks in the exams) and is the choice of most of students while doing third year LL.B

Many Thanks

Ive done my LLB from Bangalore university. Ive done only Banking and Intellectual Property exams. Banking is easy, IP is a little tough. law relating to women and children would be the next easiest after banking, all though I havent done it, but know the general content of it. So if I wanted the easiest options, I would take Banking and Women and Child law.

Thanks 'pinkcauldrons'.

Could you plz P.M. me some details about IP course...what books to study for this subject, what where the things you found tough about IP etc..

Also, just wonderin...would taking 'Conflict of Laws' and 'Law of Insurance' help my cousin if my cousin chose to appear for the New York Bar exam as 'Conflict of Laws and Insurance' are two subjects on which students are, amongst others, tested for during the NY Bar exam.

U want good subjects that are helpful or just want easy subjects to pass?

"Women and Law" is absolutely easy but completely waste, i say, subject to read. If Someone wants to join bar in foreign countries, then, it is not the subject to study.

Law of Insurance and Banking are both easy and good subjects for future lawyers. A lot of things about commercial world and transactions.

Law of conflict is about human rights laws and International Laws and conventions, Refugee Laws. I find these kind of subjects very boring but worth to study. A Lot NGOs/INGOs are looking for graduates who have done law of war/peace or conflicts.

IP law differs from University to university what they teach depending on resource person. in General, copyrights, patents, TradeMarkets, 3 major areas are taught. In some good Universities, they teach digital laws, Computer and Law etc. Preety interesting to read and not that tough as well.

In India, Indian Copyrights Act, Patent Acts, and Trademarks Act are three major legislations taught in any University and principle is almost same as law of US.
